So then ignore the useless guy and walk forward, same if a soldier did it except worse because you're even slower. It would allow a scout to make space for your team, except oh wait. A soldier can do that better by jumping onto height and not insta-die every time. Again; it was tested previously and the only use for it was really taking spam off a choke point by drawing fire before your soldier sacked, which I already covered in my initial post.

It only adds a small amount of team coordination to the game and doesn't detract anything from it. It's only good for taking yourself out of the fight for 15 seconds and coordinating that with your team. But even if that's useless (because it just makes you down one player for the length of a respawn time anyway), why keep a useless item banned? Especially if, like I said, it encourages coordination in a way that doesn't break the game.

Again, you're still better of sending a soldier behind or a normal scout through Baby Door on Gully than using Bonk to do it. It was tested and could be tested again in Invite/Prem pugs or a couple scrims.

However, the bug would matter. Does it completely nullify the penalty?

i really dont get it at the end of the day the game needs to be fun to play, why are you fighting so hard to add items that make the game less fun? what do you play the game for? nobody likes any of these items for a reason, its because they make the game more annoying

I don't know if it's leagues just caring less about HL, but it's always been weird to me how big the discrepancy between the HL and 6s whitelist is. Most of the reasons weapons are banned in 6s applies to HL, minus maybe the cowmangler since the damage reduction on engineer buildings is more important.

Only reason I can think of why bonk/parachute/cleaver aren't banned in HL is cause they're good dumb fun.

mangler would be fine if they nerfed reload speed slightly. having two soldiers be able to spam constantly while the demo gets all the ammo on the map just made stalemates a little more common than they already were.

in hl sentries counter bonk (and cow mangler) and parachute isn't strong because of sniper class or heavy or pyro. parachute is good during a sack wave though

cleaver is the best example of a weapon that by 6s standards is OP in highlander, but it's not banned because it's not nearly as oppressive as it probably is in 6s. having 2 scouts capable of spamming cleaver sounds genuinely awful while 1 scout doing it is occasionally really annoying to one player
