Can yall recommend me some FIRE RPG games? Something not too intense on the hardware since my laptop isn't to tier. Preferably cheap. I liked the Skyrim and Fallout 4 and New vegas type rpg but I'll look into any of your recommendations.

Morrowind, Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2, and Lisa are all really good. You can get them for less than $10 when they're on sale.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games
system shock
deus ex
bioshock
if you can emulate ps2 games then okami is fantastic
you could also look into overhauls for games you have already played. sometimes there will be entirely new stories to explore.

if you have any interest in JRPGs look into the fire emblem or mother series. theres a lot more jrpgs that are good but those are what i would recommend.

dark souls is always my go to for RPG. The first one should be pretty cheap, especially during the summer sale, and runs equally bad on all hardware.

Hmmm...Role-Playing Game games...I've played a bit of the Witcher. It's ok. Love the Mass Effect series. Was enjoying Oblivion before I got busy with other things.

Now I'm old and I don't know if FIRE actually means something, so here is just a list of like... all the RPGs a human needs to play in their lifetime.

Here you go:

Old Skool games where you'll have to look up how to actually play them because the GUI's aren't intuitive:

Bard's Tale (the old and the new), Ultima 3+, Betrayal at Krondor, Lands of Lore 1-2, Wizardry series, Might and Magic (the new one may be of particular interest), wasteland.

The Black Isle Ascendancy:

Fallout 1-2, Baldur's Gate 1-2, Icewind Dale 1-2, Planescape: Torment (my all time favorite game),

Troika Tries really hard:

Temple of Elemental Evil, Arcanum, Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines (this game is GOD TIER).

Newer but good Bioware/Obsidian recover from the death of Interplay:

Neverwinter Nights 1-2, Knights of the Old Republic 1-2, Dragon Age: Origins.

Bioware Gets Bought by EA:

Mass Effect 1-2, and Mass Effect 3 with all the DLC.

Obsidian Makes the Magic Happen:

PIllars of Eternity, Tyranny

CD Projeckt may try to kill your computer after Witcher 1:
but 1-3 are all good.

inXhile, eXtine's likely favorite game company:

Wasteland 2, Torment 2

Hey look a shadowrun:

Shadowrun and the adventure packs are lots of fun.

Indie showdown for a few Serbians in their parent's basement:

Underrail is some real shit.

You can find all of them on GoG or Steam and also with enhanced editions for ease of use.

Chrono Cross (PS1) and SMT: Nocturne (PS2), both emulatable. Divinity Original Sin: EE if you have a buddy to co-op with.

Mount & Blade: Warband if you're looking for something really addicting. It doesn't revolve much around your character but more about gaining influence and conquering. It's really fun

If you can get it to work and you don't mind atrocious graphics, Soulbringer is a forgotten treasure. Excellent voice acting, quirky combat system and controls(in a good way), great lore, very fitting music and sound design. It's one of those games which would have been a classic if the publisher didn't rush the devs during the last 25% of development. I always felt they cut off 20% of the end-game even though the storyline was already written, just because they weren't given more time. The story still makes perfect sense though. There are also some bugs and oversights as a result of this rushed late development, but they can all be overcome in five seconds if you know what to do(feel free to PM me if the game breaks).

If you have never played it, get a DS or SNES emulator and play Chrono Trigger. It's considered by most of the people the best JRPG of all time.

Older TES games are good and probably can run on a potato.

Mass Effect games are good and well optimized, but you might want to pick up DLCs for it as well, which are kinda expensive (there is no GOTY edition or season pass, you have to buy every DLC seperately).

The original Fallout, Fallout 2 and New Vegas are all great games and Fallout 3 is a pretty good game.

Witcher 1 is OK, 2 and 3 are great but these have high requirements.

Also if your definition of RPG is broad you can try Deus Ex and Legend of Zelda (you can play Zelda on PC only via emulator and it's only playable with a gamepad, but Zelda games are top notch - I started playing through all Zeldas up to Wind Waker recently and I'm loving it so far) games.

If anyone is still interested in a fantastic RPG game series that offers very little eye candy but tons of content to keep you busy for hours on end, you will not find a better deal than right now on Geneforge.

I have played and beaten 3 of these games, still working on the 4th and will likely replay some of them to try different characters/builds. Right now, Steam is offering %70 off these games and you can get the entire bundle of 5 full games for just 5.99.

Go to Steam Store and type in "Geneforge". Any RPG lovers will not be disappointed.
