Donald Trump is pretty stupid. Most of us understand this. He believes China created global warming, along with a bunch of other stupid shit. So he is kind of a meme, people make fun of him all the time. But the fact that he has even a chance at winning the election is terrifying. It is truly scary that we have this many people in this country that would actually vote for this man. There are many factors here that lead to his popularity as a candidate. I really am not too knowledgeable on the subject, but at this point I just think we have a lot of stupid people in this country. Help me understand this idiot and the people who believe in this idiot please.

Idiots calling idiots idiots.

I'm not saying he's qualified, I want him, or even that I like him. But personally I don't think this is the real him. That doesnt justify it mind you and I'm not happy that we might get someone who faked a persona to get into the white house but if you look at old interviews and even ones as recent as 2014, he was very eloquent and professional. You HAVE to give him credit for being the successful business man he is and along with that comes a lot of foreign relations, especially with China.

While your at it, look how long hes talked about his potential to run. I've seen interviews from the late 80's where he talks about how he doesn't want to run but if the US cant get in check he will. He said the same exact thing all the way up until he started running.

I don't think he's a solution and at this point he's definitely seeming like a problem, but he is right that the US needs to get its shit in check. Maybe rattling up the system will do it, maybe it won't. I'm not qualified to decide. I do think that if he gets elected we'll see an almost immediate shift to a much more professional, rational, and logical approach. He is, after all, a business man. I'm sure he knows that no country will take him seriously if he keeps acting like he is.

I feel like I have to make it VERY CLEAR that I DO NOT SUPPORT TRUMP. I'm just attempting as best I can to look at things objectively.

Donald is an anti-establishment """"""man of the people"""""" who protects his own interests but hes at LEAST honest
People see Hillary as the most establishment, malicious, war mongering shape-shifting lizard person you could have run for president

idk i guess its just like honest anti-media man > corporate mouthpiece woman ultimately to people

I can kind of see your point, our government does need to "get its shit in check" so to speak, but Donald Trump is not the answer. I haven't seen this footage of acting eloquent or professional, but I have to question a man who wants to literally go against the first amendment.

Blithe I really am not too knowledgeable on the subject, Help me understand this idiot and the people who believe in this idiot please.

I mean, if you're uninformed you can't go throwing around the idiot card without being able to see it from both sides. I'm not trying to endorse either Trump or Hillary when I say this. Do I agree that Trump says a lot of stupid things? Absolutely. But at least he's honest. Too honest at some times yes. Multiple times in his appearances, he's talked about how against 'Political correctness' he is, which is why a lot of people will go after him calling him a racist, crazy person etc. People SUPPORT him because he's a very 'in your face, confident' kind of person. As for his views on the economy, My guess is if he gets elected he'll take a business approach to the American economy, since after all, he's a business man. He'll try the same trickle down economics system that Ronald Reagan used during his term which was actually pretty successful and lead to a wealthy time in American history which is probably a big reason that people support him.

I guess what I'm trying to say is the reason people are for him is he's confident and not afraid to speak out, and the reason people are against him is because he's an asshole and speaks out about things?

EDIT: after posting this I immediately realized what I had done

terabyteid rather have an idiot than a felon AND an idiot

Policy wise Hillary would just be Obama 2.0 and as far as diplomacy goes it's hard to see her as not better than Trump, which covers the two major roles of the president. This sentiment that Trump is bad but Hillary is worse is something I've heard a lot, but it usually comes from people who have been Republicans their whole life so they agree more with the anti-LGBT, fiscally conservative, socially conservative etc. policies that Trump touts. The interesting thing is that there's actually a small portion of people who haven't voted Republican in the past that have somehow decided that Trump is better than Hillary, which is why Trump is able to contest her despite having even less minority votes than is normal for a Republican candidate.

In short we might get fucked because of people jumping on the Hillary hate bandwagon without actually considering the consequences of a Trump presidency: a conservative supreme court which would probably result in some terrible anti-LGBT stuff and almost certainly would result in anti-abortion laws as well as having a laughably bad head diplomat (diplomacy with foreign leaders is actually one of the most important roles of a president and it's weird that no one ever thinks about how terrible Trump would be at it).

Let me give a serious answer real quick before this Trump thread blows up into angry tftv politics like the last one did.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LibRNYJmZ-I

As Scott Adams (the creator of the comic strip Dilbert and trained hypnotist) has been discussing on his blog the entire election season, Trump is a master of human persuasion, and the video above explains some of his techniques very well. I'd highly recommend anyone interested to look into Scott Adam's blog as it just might change the way you view politics quite a bit,

You can say whatever you want about Trump but you cannot deny he is an absolute GOD at keeping the media spotlight on him. He says something outrageous, news outlets cover it for like a week straight, then his platform gets massive attention for when he talks on his next big issue.

The people that hate him the most are the ones giving him the most power. If major cable news networks like CNN, MSNBC, CBS, etc never gave him attention when he said shit like "Dont let the muzzies into the country" he would have already lost. They just needed to chase that political outrage skrilla

From one faggot to another (since you think he s "anti-LGBT) maybe you should have seen the speech on security he made after Omar "put a mag in every fag" went on a rampage (a registered democrat btw) and Trump was the first who included pro-lgbt points in his republican nomination speech. so i think you might want to revise your statement. A person can be personally anti abortion without forcing his view through law ( Belgian king Boudewijn didn't want to sign the legislation that would allow abortion as a devout catholic, so they had to work a legal loophole to depose him for one day and carry it through, which was an ok compromise for government and king, don't think it will go that drastic)
Foreign diplomacy has always been a top down thing for the USA, you don't really think a real powerplayer cares about the hurt feelings of some irrelevant country

" F**k your parliament and your constitution. America is an elephant. Cyprus is a flea. Greece is a flea. If these two fleas continue itching the elephant, they may just get whacked good ...We pay a lot of good American dollars to the Greeks, Mr. Ambassador. If your Prime Minister gives me talk about democracy, parliament and constitution, he, his parliament and his constitution may not last long...
Comment to the Greek ambassador to Washington, Alexander Matsas, over the Cyprus issue in June 1964. As quoted in I Should Have Died (1977) by Philip Deane, pp. 113-114.

In the docu clinton cash you can see hillary is on the same princple as her fellow democrat, in the way she took control over the "reconstruction" of haiti, only to embezzle and give out contracts to donors.

ALso i'm pretty sure, and i hope it gets clarified Donald Trump talks about the carbon credits trading system which is host of scam after scam when talking about global warming, after all, the UN wants governments to enforce carbon credit systems and trading to be set up, while it just shows its just prone to abuse, and doesnt solve anything for the enviroment.

and hey, if you are a 18 year old who thinks trumps is an idiot, or just takes over the talking points of cnn or MSNBC or fox news (i thought those years were supposed to be the anti establishment years) without ever checking a source, you had your chance with good Ol' bernie telling you to donate, so he can nicely tell you to vote for hillary, while reaving in 200 million dollar for her campaign. Bernie never even scratched the surface on hillary, is it becuase he knows he doesnt stand a chance and is just being a career politician, or is he hoping for a spot in her cabinet?

chugsTrump is our boy. Tired of people's feelings being relevant in politics,

His entire campaign is ran on feelings.

tired of BLM

Identity politics are cancer. Who would have thought?

tired of normalizing islamic terror attacks,

"Islamic terror attacks" are a direct result of US foreign policy.

tired of being pc,

most people are https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5dNbWGaaxWM

tired of helping other countries that hate us,.

States are rational actors. The US's support for other countries is entirely a geopolitical board game to support the empire. If you think the US has morals or has ever had morals you are in need of a history lesson, There is no "Making America great again"™. America was never great.

tired of countries in NATO not paying their god damn share and then criticizing America compensating for weak allies,

NATO is the worst thing to happen to the humanity since Hitler.

tired of people thinking socialism will in a non homogeneous society,

"i love to spout my opinions on socialism while having no idea what the literal definition of socialism is nor do i know anything about socialist or socialist movements"

tired of identity politics,

Most people are. You are not special.

tired of muslims,

And i am certain the Muslims are tired of you

tired of race baiting,

The vast majority of the Amerilard public wants neither of them. The oligarchy has got us in a circle of "voting for the lesser evil". It doesn't matter who you vote for. Stop being such a class cuck.
Trump is our boy.
America was never great.
tired of countries in NATO not paying their god damn share and then criticizing America compensating for weak allies,
I find it pathetic that the US public cares more about the emails being leaked than the contents of the emails. The down rite evil shit the US is doing laid out in the open and all the US public cares about is that the leaks might have gotten a burger killed and muh national security? Just fuck all the Libyans, Afghans, Venezuelans, Syrians, ect suffering and being murdered. They clearly don't matter right? It is like Vietnam all over again. Outrage about the draft and the burgers but fuck the millions of gooks right?

I am absolutely disgusted by the selective outrage.

I always thought trump was being supported because he is racist and a lot of Americans are. I don't mean to offend anyone.
