TobI've never seen an engineer main with okay game sense or DM after almost 8 years of TF2.
Probably a combination of how braindead most engi mains are + how little impact the class has even if they're good.

Many of the best engi players throughout TF2's lifespan have been HL players who play other classes.
They get put on the class because there are more HL teams than there are okay engineer mains to fill the slots.

The market gardener is awful.

It promotes a retarded soldier playstyle. Even if you suck with it, I constantly see soldiers running it in pugs, scrims, and matches and constantly going for spoons with it and feeding. Everyone is now using it because they see people like jay and nubbi using it, causing a constant feed soldier mentality in pugs which is annoying and can make playing medic/demo unfun. It's also infuriating when a soldier keeps high/fast bombing and dropping the med with the spoon, as there is literally nothing you can do to counter it besides hitting an insane airshot or hitting meatshots as a scout. He jumps so fast you can't even call to your medic/combo that he's bombing and having them react fast enough.

If you're a demoman, you can only really counter it by hitting an airshot or playing super passive. If you're a medic, good luck. If a soldier without the market gardener bombs you, you have a chance to surf or juke him (even if you don't see him at first), but if he has the market gardener, it's almost a guaranteed drop for free. And also, ping makes it seem like he's gonna miss you but he hits you 3 feet away, and melee hitboxes are broken in this game.

Obviously there are ways to counter the spoon, like awareness and movement, and it definitely is not overpowered, rather it is just a gimmick. But man is it infuriating when you almost wipe the enemy team, but the last remaining soldier jumps in and drops your medic with the spoon, and there's literally nothing you can do.

Edit: Also in a soldier v soldier, the soldier with the market gardener just has to strafe while the other person has to either go for a hard airshot or counterjump, and even when he counterjumps he can still get hit.

Übersaw is an overrated trash melee in my opinion. It requires you to put yourself at risk (even when using it as a backup weapon) for a reward that barely makes any difference. You already build über through the medigun fast enough, why bother to try and build it even faster via putting yourself at an unnecessary risk? In general you should never melee as a medic! If you ever get ambushed, retreat to your team, get a pocket, then go after the ambusher. Let the pocket deal the damage, while you focus on surviving. This is far safer as you are no longer putting yourself at direct risk of losing your team the game, but rather an indirect risk that is far easier to control.

the ubersaw's main point is, if you're the last one alive as med (say fleeing a mid fight or holding last) and you're above 50% or above 75%, you quickly try to get uber and stall for teammates to come in

it's situationally incredibly useful, but obviously the solemn vow is better overall

Probably already posted, but damage based bullet applied push force is an annoying and poorly implemented mechanic. You shouldn't be able to fully charge body shot a bombing ubered player to cancel all of their horizontal momentum.

he made all the games really tryhard which was great if you were in the mood, and his stream was either 1) him owning or 2) him malding both of which made for excellent content

pushing gullywash last by going through launchpad is underrated. you wont get stuffed by a pyro, you can shoot all the popular sentry spots, you can milk pretty hard and if it is trapped there's only gonna be two stickies there at most. it offers a lot of flexibility because u can go basically anywhere from launchpad quickly I don't think its necessarily the best way to push when your uber ad is really tight(might work if u double soldier it tho) but if its big and you can go for frags it is indeed a truly epic entrance to choose.
