Richard Lewis did a lot of work for competitive TF2. Gave us a platform on Cadred.org for years. A great servant for eSports. My hero!

After he left I doubt they ever spoke again or if Richard ever even knew about Kenneth's situation :(

My point is, even 10 years is a ridiculous amount of time for a single e-sport to survive as a single game. Outliving an esport is like outliving a tv series. You're supposed to live that long.

This game keeps dying every week but when's it gonna stay dead?

I want to move on with my life already.

OK so i just realized that the thread title was toungue in cheek and my comments has been repeated 5000 times before and im really embarrased

what i done wrote:
i dont play this game for the popularity so idc if this game is classified as dead competitively because not many people play it. Also stop trying to push for matchmaking to be a thing in tf2, it would be awful and just a magnet for r/tf2 or /vg/ mongoloids that nobody wants. In my eyes, I dont see not being able to get two teams of 6 decent tf2 players in a server and readied up in the near future.

That is utterly inoffensive, he puts it quite kindly.

The worst bit of the video is that he doesn't know as much about the HSBC scandal as he should.

as much as people like to say the game is dead competitively, it's doing better than pretty much every single FPS other than csgo on PC when it comes to the amount of teams playing and average skill. all it took for me to realize this was to stop playing tf2 and look for the "next big fps".

fps genre has been dead for years now and cs making a resurgence doesn't mean that fps in general will ever enter the spotlight. People don't like to spend years honing mechanical skill when they can play dota/league/hearthstone and be reasonably successful with far less muscle memory/practice.

mustardoverlordrichard lewis is way more well known than any tf2 player who has ever played

oplaid works for him at the daily dot

get over urselves

Get over yourself, you're an idiot.

I was the first full time esports writer hired by the Daily Dot. I've worked there for months before Richard joined the team. He works alongside me. He's certainly not my boss and he certainly doesn't pay the paychecks.

I wrote that article because believe it or not, I'm interested in competitive TF2. What a surprise!

I can't speak for League or Hearthstone, but Dota takes a lot of skill and practice to actually be decent in. It's just not the same skillset that an FPS typically requires. I've been playing dota for a little over a year now and I only consider myself to be a somewhat decent casual player. But I don't actually play it too seriously.

My point being is that I think it's a bit ignorant to say that you can be better at it with less practice/effort than something like TF2.
