#2 ESEA Money Injection team in TF2 General Discussion

wait are you going to have a team that doesn't even play matches and just becomes dead after 4 ffl's or w/e

that seems weird.

lmfao what the fuck

nobody said esea would lose anything from dropping tf2. We understand that.

Also you linked a discussion thread that took place at the end of season 6. SEASON FUCKING SIX

I'm sure glad that lpkane has just been on his last straw with the tf2 community for 9 seasons and almost 4 years lmfao

what point are you even trying to make with that post I don't even understand why you typed it.

OrdooMr_OwlI'll pay league fees for 10 new open players (this being their first season of esea). Id rather just pay for 1-2 players per team but it's p much first come first served. Add me on steam. I'm not playing this season but I do not want to see esea die. It's not about the money for many of these teams, including mine, it's about giving CEVO a shot.

For better or worse, Open players have spoken with their wallets by not signing up their teams for ESEA and have chosen CEVO. Is it a wise choice?; We don't know, the season hasn't started yet.

But isn't that the point? The point of this CEVO experiment is that we ACTUALLY have a choice on what league to play in instead of just sticking ESEA year in and year out.

Before CEVO came back, we had two real choices in 6's: UGC and ESEA. That was pretty much it. UGC is a free league that is a great place to start, but the competition is minor. ESEA is a very competitive league where even Open can be a great challenge for even veteran teams that underestimate it, as seen in this last season's top teams having ex-invite players on the rosters.

So why can't CEVO be a middle ground? A place where the skill level is higher then UGC, but not quite up there with the upper echelons of ESEA? What's wrong with that?

What ESEA did was wrong, but I don't want them to die, but I also don't want this opportunity with CEVO to slip by the wayside so we actually have a choice where we play, and since I don't have the time to commit to playing in 3 different leagues (ESEA, my "for fun" steel team offclassing with friends, and my CEVO team playing my main) I'm going to choose something new, instead of the same old thing.

Then don't add me and stop typing useless walls of text. I'm not here to convince people to join esea, I'm here to offer my assistance to people who would like to join esea and cevo but cannot due to monetary concerns.

I just want to so how much I hate the 'LAN doesn't matter to open teams' argument. Actually, LAN matters a whole lot to a bunch of open players. Plenty of people I've played with or spoken with really really wanna get to LAN and if there is no longer a LAN to get to they'll lose a massive part of their motivation towards getting better. Sure, it's a long way off for some, but for people to say that low-level players don't care about LAN like they speak for everyone when so many have a tenuous connection to the competitive community at best is just dumb.

#127 ESEA PROMOTION in TF2 General Discussion

If I can make a suggestion, stop moving all 16 open playoff teams to IM if possible. I know you did it the last couple seasons to flesh out the IM and main divisions, but I think there might be some more continuity in open if we're not essentially starting completely fresh each season.

This probably isn't the right place for this but it popped into my head and I wanted to throw it out before I forgot.

supercellcya in cevo :). ask for a refund rofl? What happened to playing both leagues. Now you're telling me what league to play my videogames on and bribing me with freemium.

lol what the fuck do you think the admin of ESEA is gonna say when someone says "yeah I'd really like to play in ESEA but I already paid for CEVO and my team only wants to do one league"

It'd be great if people can play both but do you think Killing of all people is gonna be like "ya lol play cevo even if it means u cant play esea xD"

jesus christ.

#204 ESEA's possible demise? in TF2 General Discussion
blendtecrofl i totally want to play in esea and i'm sure 70% of open players feel this way

The problem is that the people who want to play in cevo in open refuse to budge, while those who would rather play esea are willing to play in either league.

This means that every opne team on average has like 1-3 players who only want to play in CEVO, and rather than find replacements and play in ESEA, the team would rather stay together and just play in CEVO instead.

That's the real downside of ESEA for open players; the vocal minority on the teams that outright refuse to play ESEA due to their own faulty logic that is based off incorrect information and "love of the game/community".

Honestly atm i wish nothing more than to leave my CEVO team and find an ESEA team instead. IMO if ESEA dies, there's no reason to play 6s anymore aside from fun every once in a while.

I agree wholeheartedly with this post btw, it sums up my thoughts on the whole thing pretty much perfectly.
