If you really like micromanagement Crusader Kings 2 is great. A bit pricey with all the DLC, though, but we're talking real DLC, the kind that actually changes game mechanics. I'd pick up the whole package during the Summer Sale or something.
phAZEThis is an ivy bridge, and Intel's latest Haswell processors came out a few weeks ago. You would be better off ordering one of those rather than one of these. I hope I'm not too late.

There's one of them around your price range.
If you plan on overclocking, don't use Haswell. They're actually worse in overclocking performance than the Ivy Bridges and the stock clock difference is negligible. Their only advantages are that they're a bit more efficient and have better integrated graphics, which shouldn't factor in for a desktop (they're really laptop chips tbh). Save yourself a few bucks and get a 3570K.
Goes to show you that newer != better.
I just finished building my brother a new PC, with an AMD FX-6300. The only time you'll use them is when you get graphics drivers; install your LAN/Wifi drivers from the disk that comes with your motherboard and download the latest driver package from your card's site (don't bother with the disk that comes with your card, those drivers are generally outdated). Once you download and install those, restart your PC and the discrete card will automatically override the integrated.
Another thing; is the camera when you open the map supposed to spin like that? It's a little disorienting. I get that it goes with the theme and all but it may make people a bit motion-sick.

don't know what's up with sound, apparently OBS decided not to capture it. There's probably something faster since scouts get there ~same time, but I'm also not the best demo jumper and screwed it up a bit.
Thought this was interesting.

Yes, I know a lot of people here have a bias against RTS/MOBAs but it's still something to think about. We've been talking about how to make TF2 more spectator-friendly, when a lot of "big" esports aren't even as big as most real sports (remember that that MLG championship that was bigger than Game 2 of the Stanley Cup is, after all, the complete count of every game, not a single one). If we want to grow maybe we need to consider being the first to adopt some of this.
The 2013 Deathadder is a good choice as well - The sensor is on par with the G400/Zowie mice and is pretty quality. The main problem is that you have to deal with *shudder* Synapse. Dumbest driver software I've ever seen.
I also mentioned the Zowies, which have the EC1/EC2 with comparably high-quality sensors, but I know nothing about them other than that they're good. Never even seen one in person.
As for the mousepad, if you prefer cloth, the Steelseries QCK family or the Puretrak talent are your best choices, although some people prefer the Razer pads. If you like hard pads, I use a Steelseries 4HD, and I've been more or less converted from cloth pads - I just like the feel better. It's really personal preference, though.
I thought (and still do) that LoZ Twilight Princess was one of the best games I'd ever played. The race at the center of the plot is called the Twilit. I've actually been going by just Twilit for a couple months now.
I like watching Gpit - its fun to watch the pushes that break a hold on a defense-favoring map. The problem is when a team defends for an eleven minute time. It's fun to watch, but when the entire round has to last at least 20 minutes, including waiting for everyone to ready up (another problem that the community should really work on, our disrespect for starting things on time gets on my nerves even if I have given up on seeing a match start at 9:30 sharp) it just turns in to an excruciatingly slow yawn-fest that makes me pray for the other team to make it a quick finish. The average time is considered, what, about 6-7 minutes? Every time I've seen this season has been either way more or less than that. I don't know about you guys, but when i see a 4:30 or an 11:20 on Gpit, I don't like it because all the suspense is gone - that round's gonna be a roll.
I think that part of the inherent boring of it is that it's become too formulaic. A lot of teams I watched last night tried an ironman. Every one of those teams (that I saw) lost. We've proven that it only works against a team that is significantly weaker or isn't prepared to attack an ironman, but most teams these days are ready for one and can easily take advantage of the split teams. When you add the monotony of watching a team defend B successfully over and over, along with the uncoordination of week 4 teams, it shows that it doesn't work, and it's either cause it's this early or that it just won't work at all anymore. The meta is stagnant, because the only way we had to mix up the map's defense is easily countered now.
While it's already been said a million times, I think we should look closely at UGC this week and see how Edifice works in an actual match. I pugscrimmed it last night and I think it is rather promising. We tried different attack and defense strat every round, and every one of them seemed feasible. You can ironman it a lot easier, you can just hold one point, you can use a couple of gay roamer spots to try and force, then hold the other point. You can open your attack on either point and you have no idea whether they'll try to hold the one you open on or not. Sentries work great, but there is no "perfect spot" for them. The meta is fresh, and it really feels like it will stay open for awhile. If people say that Gpit's become boring, maybe this is something we should try instead.
rQwireIn the end nothing will really change for PS4 or XboxOne if big publishers still wants to push online passes to combat the used game market. Guess we'll have to wait and see.
The problem wasn't so much because of DRM and online passes in general. It was how Microsoft was going to require it. Don't get me wrong, I hate the online pass model as much as the next guy, but there's no way I'm supporting a company that forces DRM for every single game on the system. Leave that to the software manufacturers who actually make the games.
MarxistIt's an obscenity if he's actually serious - I'll be happy to report it.
Although, perhaps he's going for something like this:

No, the quotes he gives basically say "Don't ask for consent, just do it."
Pretty disgusting if you ask me.
another option is to rebind just scoreboard to another key - I have scoreboard and netgraph set to tab, and just scoreboard bound to f5.
the301stspartan...I think he meant you.
I am aware.
