Someone shouted out tf.tv early in the stream, couldn't catch a name. Who was that?

No-one's said Dancing Mad yet? It's a great song to accompany one of the best villains, that actually changes along the same basic melody as the battle progresses.

showstopperban it please

Why? Because they're hard to kill? I just said a kritz or a focus gives you a better advantage against QF than against kritz.
Because it makes the game faster? Isn't that what we've been wanting for months?
Because it changes the meta? God forbid we make the game more dynamic.

I wonder how many people arguing that only kritz can counter it have actually used the QF since the buff - like personally used it, not just played against it. I've had QF pushes with uber advantage fail just as regularly as uber stalemates because of focus fire - and not just on me as a medic, but on my pocket at 250; heck, I even had a buffed heavy die because of focus fire. QF still lets you take damage, and unlike the Kritz you can't counter their focus fire with 200+damage stickies. There's threat from it, but it's significantly less because it's still essentially a much weaker version of stock uber.

However, it's revitalized my interest and excitement for the class. It's no longer a matter of 2 mediguns, where one is only useful if you use it just right. Now there is a rock/paper/scissors meta to medic where Quick Fix can counter uber because of the faster charge, Kritz counters Quick Fix because of crit stickies on the medic, and Uber counters Kritz because it can completely negate damage - but if the other team screws up somehow, those advantages can completely reverse. Personally, that's the most exciting thing about the changes to me: the meta is so dynamic that there's no perfect, this beats that every time medigun.

What's your CPU? The processor affects TF2 performance a lot more than the graphics card usually. If you're running at DX8 on maxframes then the problem is probably a weak CPU.

#61 Quick Fix? in TF2 General Discussion

I was gone the week of the update and completely missed the chance to try it early; the only way I could learn about it was by messaging my teammates. After getting a chance to use it, though, I'm really enjoying the changes. It's not viable as a mainstay, but if you use it for advantages like kritz it could be useful; plus the rock-paper-scissors that others have pointed out really is there and gives a fun aspect to the meta I feel was in other games, but not tf2.

I don't entirely see why people are saying it's not viable for rollouts, though - sure, you don't have as much overheal, but by doing a demo-roamer-scouts heal order and having demo go on the slower, healthpack-rich rollouts you can get to mid with scouts, heal demo, and get uber at mid, depending on the map (on granary I felt like I was getting it in about 10 seconds after I came out of yard). Besides, let's not forget that even without building kritz would come soon after that QF (especially since a good chunk of the healing would be against actually hurt players) so it's a viable mid counter. Perhaps we'll be seeing mids that aren't stock-stock more often?

#36 Fails in TF2 General Discussion

I used to have crouch and jump bound to my RMB in an alternate keymap on my mouse (basically binding a script to space and lshift for surfing). I had the keymap switch bound to m4 and m5, which on my mouse are right under the scroll wheel. So I'm playing medic in a pug and we get pushed back to last, but I have uber to counter theirs and I knew that we could force more flashes on them, which might let us push back to second. I go to pop... and start crouchjumping repeatedly and die to the uber pocket. Apparently I'd accidentally hit m4 earlier :(
