#3 redd lf soldier mentor in Mentoring
GrImpartialGame sense is just something that will come with time and experience. Watch some demos and POV's, and try to get the STV's of some scrims to see where you went wrong. Best of luck.

Having someone with experience point out just what you did wrong helps a lot, though. When I was doing highlander I learned more about Spy Time in a 10-minute speech by Cygnus than I had in a whole bunch of pugs and lobbies before that, and I played medic, where that's a relatively important thing to be aware of. You can go over demos by yourself all you want, but it's a lot easier to learn from them if someone else with more experience is helping you out. That's the point of a mentor.

I've been playing against Redd in scrims a few times; his DM is good but he needs positioning and timing improvements; give this guy a mentor and he could be golden.

#24 Fighting Games on Steam in Other Games

If anyone wants to play (preferably SSFIV but my Skullgirls is decent), add me on Steam, I need practice. I'm not great, either, but I'm alright with getting wrecked too, so hit me up I want to be good

#9 SSD Question in Hardware

If you've never installed an SSD before, make sure to access your BIOS before doing anything and changing the mode to AHCI. It's a SATA mode that's optimized for SSDs and required to get the most out of yours.

TerywjMatches are Tuesday and Thursday by default. If they wait until last minute how are we supposed to schedule matches.

I don't care about who we play so much as I care that I need to schedule for certain days and that's always better done early than late.

Exactly, I'm going to be out of town starting next Thursday so I need to schedule around that almost immediately

Pls

#5 Fighting Games on Steam in Other Games
shruggerI have been playing a LOT of Street Fighter 4 lately, it has become one of my favorite games ever. I am thinking of buying KOF just to support fighting games on steam but that games looks way too hard for me, maybe if another noobie wants to play I will get it.

SF4 is on sale right now on steam btw, 75% off! today only, I recommend it highly

edit:
and I can't wait for the new smash

By what I understand KOF is really cancel-happy, think Marvel but with SF-sized combos. Sounds like my kind of game honestly, I've been meaning to get it. Add me?

I've been playing quite a bit of Street Fighter lately myself, but I'm still really bad. Taught myself bare basics using Guile, fundamentals on Ryu and I'm really liking Dee Jay a lot, but there's no one I know who plays it I need partners

#202 Why do so many people bash 9v9? in TF2 General Discussion
LunacideThe match between Mixup and Quantic on badlands during S10 LAN is considered to be one of the best games of 6s to ever happen, atleast from a spectator standpoint. I've always wondered, is there a highlander equivalent to this game?

I've never really enjoyed watching highlander being casted, either because of the quality of the caster, the skill differences in the teams, or the chaotic nature of certain maps (steel, 5-cp maps with many flanks, etc.).

I don't know if there's really one definitive match, but Map 1 (Badwater) of Ginyu v SNSD back in March was one of the best maps I've ever seen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1TbYl82wzw

mage24365The sad fact is, most "classic" literature is actually complete trash that is not worth anyone's time. This fits very firmly in that category. Watching idiots continue to be idiots and reflecting on their musings is just plain pointless.
Same goes for Dickens, Austen, and whoever else writes incredibly outdated books that are only studied because the only people who are "successful" in teaching literary studies are those who drink the kool-aid.
Sad, but very true.

Your post screams "I hate reading so I'm going to bash the books I am currently being forced to read in my basic junior English class." And honestly, that makes me really fucking sad. If you actually spent time thinking about them and analyzing them, you'd actually see that they have a lot of important messages that are still topical, decades or even centuries later.

#20 GTA 5 coming to the PC at November 22th ! in Other Games

It's fake, literally no other site has said anything about it, not even rockstar itself. Look at the date - the 28th. Meanwhile, this article on PC Gamer, which specifically says there is no official release date, was released today: http://www.pcgamer.com/2013/10/08/intel-on-gta-5-pc-release-i-dont-think-it-will-be-console-exclusive-very-long/

Check your sources OP.

I lived in West Africa for six years, and let me tell you, the quality of life here in the US, or in Europe, is so much higher than most anywhere else in the world. I did live in a big city that was relatively modern, but it seemed underdeveloped compared to even a smaller city in the US like my native Kansas City, or even some medium-sized towns I'd lived in for awhile like Chambery, France. I don't want to be all "BE GRATEFUL OF WHAT YOU HAVE YOU UNGRATEFUL WRETCHES", but really, be grateful. Compared to most of the world, you are privileged as fuck.

But "defending the world"? Fuck that. Most of the world doesn't want war in the first place, they don't need some superpower past its prime which compensates for its increasing lack of relevance by overspending on defense. Radical Muslims are a minuscule percentage of the religion. There may be dictators in place, but they also aren't stupid and realize that there are dozens of countries opposing them, not just the US. The war in Iraq was probably started on false accusations, and we've more than outstayed our welcome in Afghanistan. Meanwhile, places like Syria that began combat of their own will and actually need help get the occasional air support and get forgotten within a week of potential boots on the ground.

So we're first in defense spending, to a level we really don't need. But we know how to use it effectively, right? Or at least have people up and coming who can change our budget and prioritize more important things? Oh, wait, we don't even crack the top 5 in education. The political system is a mess that focuses on the individual candidate instead of the issues at hand. But we must be first at something, right? Yes, we are. We vie with Mexico for the coveted no. 1 spot in rate of obesity, and we're the number one consumer of cocaine, Colombian and Mexican heroin, and Mexican marijuana. We're also a major producer of most drugs that aren't heroin or coke. Fun, fun, fun.

So yeah, it's a great country, I'll give you that. But if I had the choice, I'd probably move back to France.

#6 Game freezes (with netgraph pics) in Q/A Help

Hate to make you experience it more, but could you do a netgraph 3 with packet loss and choke? It might not tell us much, but it's more useful for figuring out network problems than straight ping and payload data.

Also they've got a really good white pizza with ricotta, olive oil, garlic and mozz that is to die for
