StevieDoes ping affect melee a lot?
yea but you can just hop into a high ping pub and melee for like 20 minutes and you'll get it down
gatsanI have been trying to get people to come to teamfortress.tv/the twitch channel but I'm getting mostly negative responses including some guy calling me a scammer or saying TF2 can't go competitive its "hat fortress" now
Do I just not say anything and hope someone asks "hey whats tf.gg"?
There will always be negative responses. But in the end there will always be more positive ones.
I'm 100% certain people have already checked out the site because of people using the tag.
They just don't mention it to whoever was using the tag. The ones that do respond are the few idiots like the 2 you mentioned
If you feel like the tf.gg tag attracts too much negative attention use www.teamfortress.tv or twitch.tv/teamfortresstv

Just keep practising.
Pubs are perfect for learning how to aim. Even when some people's movement is terrible it will remind you to actually think about your aim when you miss that one scout that's standing still whilst shooting his soda popper across the map
I like sniping on cp_orange and ctf_turbine for practise but you can learn on any map. Though unrelated to aim you should always think about sightlines and positioning. If you use those right you'll be a lot more comfortable with the shots you take which will help your aim
Be comfortable with the sensitivity you use. You can learn to snipe with any sensitivity so use whatever feels good for you. If you feel like you're too inconsistent try messing with zoom_sensitivity_ratio a bit before you change your overall sensitivity (assuming you don't use a seperate sensitivity for sniper. No point in changing your sens on all classes just for sniping)
I still change my sensitivities daily but I use seperate sensitivities for hitscan/projectiles so I don't have to get used to it on every class every time. I feel like changing a sensitivity (both general sensitivity and zoom_sensitivity_ratio) by up to 20% is still comfortable to use and you get used to it quickly. So if you really want to start messing with sensitivities because you don't feel consistent enough don't change it by too much every time
There's no 'best' way of aiming. Learn both tracking and flicking. You'll naturally learn when to use what. I often use a combination of both with every shot I take
I prefer having my crosshair on when zoomed but I know some good snipers that don't use it. Though I do think having it on helps your aim it definitely isn't required for improving
Some minor things that helped me when I was still learning to aim:
- Go for every shot. Even when your target goes behind a wall. Shoot the wall. Doesn't matter. As long as you go for the shot and it's where you predict them to be it'll help you
- Avoid sniper v sniper servers. It's where I started when I decided to main sniper but looking back it really wasn't good. Most players there are bad and you'll learn bad habits like secondscoping. Secondscoping is bad because you're just shooting targets that are standing still. It doesn't help your aim that much and only works against other snipers
- Always keep your crosshair at head height when not zoomed in. You'll only have to move your crosshair horizontally in a lot of situations so this definitely helps
edit:
- Another minor tip: A great way to practise tracking is by tracking teammates. This works on any class. I often do it on scout too. No enemies around? Just track some teammates' heads. No need to shoot at them. Just stay on target
Same thing is happening to me
I haven't done a lot of testing but I think loading a listenserver when you start TF2 should make it work
I think all the times it didn't work after starting TF2 was when I didn't warm up offline first
Not 100% on this yet though. I can test it later
CaDDyCan someone tell me how to add a health cross bar next to a health ?
custom > rayshud-master > resource > ui
In ui look for the file hudplayerhealth.res
There will be other versions of hudplayerhealth underneath: hudplayerhealth-teambar.res and hudplayerhealth-cross.res
Rename hudplayerhealth.res to hudplayerhealth_default.res or something so you can revert these changes later if you want to.
Now rename hudplayerhealth-cross.res to hudplayerhealth.res
Start TF2 (or do hud_reloadscheme in console if you already have TF2 open)
So if he still streams TF2 on Twitch that's against Twitch' ToS because he's breaking Steam's ToS for Ban Evasion, right?
(Assuming he's lying about the cs:go thing ofcourse. But if he's streaming TF2 using an alt then that's pretty obvious)
Cool. Looks like this guy won't be taking up a spot on the stream list anymore.
degucan this be made vise versa? i mean forcing viewmodels on for certain weapons (lets say mad milk) and still have ability to toggle on/off for the rest (pistols)? and if, how can i achieve it?
thanks
Perhaps this can be made using the different viewmodel positions of tf_use_min_viewmodels.
Moving the viewmodels just enough might make them no longer show up with tf_use_min_viewmodels 1. tf_use_min_viewmodels 0 could still show the viewmodels
if 1 has a lower y value you could move the viewmodel down just enough for 1 to be invisible.
1 also looks more centered so I guess you could also use a higher x value which would move the viewmodel of 0 off-screen and then 1 would be visible still.
Maybe this would look really bad though
But if it looks fine you'd then just make a simple weapon changing script that changes that setting for appropriate weapons
On the subject of faceit..
They allow people to host tournaments. I'm assuming this means they provide all the servers with configs (maybe even part of the prizepool?) Never used faceit for cs:go and tf2 faceit is still in the first stages so not sure how exactly it all works.
Using faceit as a way to host cups for newer players might be a thing soon

15 minutes until a cup starts. Use the code that AnAkk posted to enter the TF2 beta. It has 50 uses
go to the tournament section
add up solo or find 5 friends and make a team
if you add up solo the site will put you together with 5 other people who added up solo
Free points await. Another cup starts in 2 hours
