MR_SLINSpaceCadet, I'd encourage you to volunteer your free time to do whatever you want with it! If you feel like there's a problem that's worth your time fixing, you're free to start that up.
I have been doing that already with the Invite Database I created. It was a huge amount of work and time spent that nobody really cares about except me. You in particular shit on it when I wanted to use it to potentially help casters with some historical stats to talk about during down time or in-between rounds. I didn't take offense and accepted what you said. I am totally fine with how it turned out in the end, I will keep updating for every season regardless of the feedback.
MR_SLINI'm spending my free time organizing this because I think that it's important that we unify the competitive community. I've noticed that other esports have consistent rulesets around the world, and I wanted to make an effort to have something similar for the comp TF2 scene. I think that we have a long way to go, especially since we haven't reconciled map lists or even rulesets (Europe still plays best of two 30 minute maps while NA plays one map for up to 60 minutes) but it's a work in progress. The whitelist was the first step and considerably easier to manipulate than the rulesets or map lists. We can consider talking about those things in this meeting if we have time.
You answered some of my questions with this response but it could have been done without your snarky remarks.
Many ppl give you shit because you attempt to help make things better but I am not one of them. I think the questions I posed were on point and if you can't respond without taking personal offense I guess future replies should just be shit flinging threads that get locked like the last one you posted. (that turned out great)
Question: What is the reason or logic behind this meeting and having all leagues use the same whitelist?
What I mean by that is: What are we, the players, gaining from a unified whitelist of items across all leagues?
I guess I just don't see what benefit ESEA could gain from from OZFortress and ETF2L players using the same whitelist and vise-versa. How will such a thing benefit each community?
Not to derail your intended meeting issue, but the biggest issue TF2 has always had is not about items. Competitive TF2 needs more players in our communities. A meeting on how to merge the comp scenes or attract new players would seem to be a more meaningful gathering.
It is a delicate balancing act that pits 2 different viewpoints and philosophies against each other with little hope of them coming together for the greater good, and I am not talking about balancing items.
In any competitive community, the goal should always be to push the limits of the game to produce the highest quality play possible. At this point in TF2's life, the comp community knows what items best fit that mold. Allowing items that are not compatible with 6's play means the quality of the competitive matches is lowered. Gimmicks and items abilities will begin to dilute the 6's gameplay and that should be avoided at all costs.
I just don't think Valve will ever agree with that logic or even consider it as a possibility. They want all items and classes available at all times while thinking they can fix the items that seem broken. Personally, I don't think it is possible to balance all the items (or even most items) in TF2 for 6's competitive play and keep the highest quality play. Valve's idea for 6's comp is basically a free for all. (MatchMaking)
HiipFirewhy do you have a polish flag
It probably cause of that joke, you know
"How many Australians does it take to screw in a lightbulb?"
I feel the only person on my friends list that can translate this for me is Percy
FFygAnyone know how many teams there are in open this season? Doesn't seem like there is enough.
Most of the teams are invisible right now because the rosters have been moved to "inactive". I believe the team goes inactive after a certain time unless there is at least 1 player paid up on the roster. Once inactive, the team leader needs to register them for the open division again for them to appear visible.
Might be in your best interest to use FaceIT for pugs until you feel you are ready for pugchamp where the highest quality players typically play.
In all honesty, I doubt you get picked on Pugchamp until you make a name for yourself and the captains know who you are. It is mostly a place where the invite circle jerk players go to pick each other for pugs.
mixchamp is fine and almost the same as pugchamp except the quality of players. I believe FaceIT is better because the pugs start faster, happen more frequently and typically have more quality players involved than mixchamp.
fnmI've been playing faceit today, and I've been queued into really shitty servers with at least 120 ping.
I live in New England and so far the quality of the servers has been good. How do I contact them or let them know that the servers are being weird?
Maybe check their website for support?
I have played over 40 pugs on faceit and the servers have been excellent in my opinion. Mostly all servers I have played on were in Chicago. Is 100+ your normal ping for Chicago servers?
I used rayshud for a long time but recently it has been giving me problems prompting a switch. FaceIT pugs use the F4 ready-up system and that was causing problems with sound and choppy screens during pre-game only. Also MGE servers loaded slowly and I would be stuck in limbo when I initially connect unable to do anything.
I use DeliHud now and I really like the new feel of the game. Additionally, both issues listed above have completely disappeared with the new HUD.

ROFL the chat exploded
I swear, I have not laughed so hard for quite a while watching this until his battery died I have no idea why I found it so funny especially when he kept saying he was gay after she asked if he loved her. I had tears coming out of my eyes from laughing so hard
After playing 30-40 pugs on FaceIT, I can say that I like the system. It is far superior to TF2Center/Stadium in just about every respect. At this point, you have a good chance of running into some players that are either toxic or terribly bad which will unbalance teams. However, overall I have seen few arguments over playing medic which is typically the hardest thing to get.
I believe most of the issues with unbalanced teams will go away once more people login and que for pugs on a regular basis. We need more players to join the site, it is really that simple.
The actual question/discussion posted in the OP isn't even worth talking about anymore in this thread. I had another thought instead of focusing on banning weapons and playing around gimmicks.
What would be the problem with introducing a script/setting specifically for 6's that restricts players picking off-classes until a certain criteria is achieved. Such as:
Players cannot switch to (Sniper, Heavy, Pyro) unless the 4th point is captured
Players cannot switch to (Engineer, Spy) unless the Mid Point is captured
Players cannot pick (Sniper, Heavy, Pyro, Spy, Engineer) at the start of any round
This would keep idiotic classes from being run to mid but allow those classes to be used for what they are intended, such as holding last or 2nd point.
It would also keep all players (especially new) focusing on their 6's classes instead of reverting to their pub roots and off-classing for no reason after a death.
