#8 TF2 Stuttering with new 144hz monitor in Hardware
downpoura similar thing happens to me since i OC'd my cpu (or since an update around steampipe), after my pc is left of for a day or two it starts happening, restarting my computer is the only way i can fix it or else it just gets worse as more time goes by

I don't think you and I are having the same issue then.

I can play in a MGE server or a DM server and everythign is smooth and then go into a scrim and have my game start to stutter. Even if the map is the same as the previous DM server.

I have to wait to go test the MAX FPS possible fix but it is curious how the stutter can happen with a simple change of server.

#3 TF2 Stuttering with new 144hz monitor in Hardware

I wonder if that could be the issue. I have my fps capped at 350 in my config.

#1 TF2 Stuttering with new 144hz monitor in Hardware

I recently bought a new ASUS VG248QE 144hz monitor. I have no real problems with the monitor outside of TF2 and I love it. My TF2 problem is a stuttering effect I experience at times. I am unsure how to fix it permanently. Sometimes it goes away on it's own and sometimes I have to just play through it. I do have 144hz enabled and I believe my general TF2 settings are all correct.

What I experience is: Every now and then a stuttering as I move my mouse around in certain areas of the map, mostly on middle points. The stutter's are very fast and small. Meaning that I can still somewhat aim but the stutter can ruin a rocket jump and make general play not enjoyable.

This stutter does not happen in every single TF2 game I play. Most games are smooth and completely perfect. I have heard that some servers can cause this to happen because of how they are configured. Could this be true?

This stutter was not happening with my previous 60Hz monitor. I am wondering if there are certain settings I need to change because of my upgrade to 144Hz? Over the last 2 days, I did try and enable Vertical Sync in TF2. This did make the stuttering much less or go away in some cases but the lag I experience in my aim and rockets was unplayable.

If anyone has experienced this or has fixed this any help would be greatly appreciated.

#1 LFT Open - Pocket Soldier in Recruitment (looking for team)

Been playing Quake and every fortress game since 1996. Took a break from shooters when TF2 started. I got talked back into playing and have been playing TF2 competitively since January of this year with my old friends. Most of them are IM players and after 4 months, I am catching up very quickly. I am committed to improving every night and learning.

I would like to join an Open team for this season if possible. Most of my experience is with Pocket Soldier. My communication is good, I am easy to get along with and I am very active. I have a very flexible schedule and would make just about any tryout time or scrim night. Add me on Steam if interested under the name SpaceCadet`HX
