#22 ban b4nny in The Dumpster
JDuffEven though this thread might be a meme, I like to bring up topics that are serious on this shit , cause i'm no fun lol

but... before i get hate; i definitely support the statements in the cons list.
But b4nny atm is the person keeping TF2 alive.
-His streams are the highest viewed currently in TF2 (excluding special events such as ToTH, tournaments, etc.) bringing more people and attention to the competitive scene.
-He is as well (or so he claims) a person who has been called in by VALVe on multiple occasions about the game.
-Keeping the overall player base of people who haven't experienced him in pugs or on teams, at a like for the projects he promotes.

I do though think his amount of power in the TF2 community is overwhelming, dictating certain events (such as the white list) and having an unfair say on how certain things are handled in leagues.

#279 Global Whitelist Lists Post-Meeting in TF2 General Discussion
Jaredb027As I have said before, I am not convinced the quick-fix belongs in competitive TF2 but I do not believe that it can be thrown out without proper testing.

It was tested before and tested again. Guess what, it still fucking sucks and should be deleted from all comp play.
There should not even be a debate about this item and several others.

#20 how 2 balance quick fix in TF2 General Discussion
Jaredb027Incredible, a mechanic in competitive the utilizes communication, game-awareness and the progression of skill. It is almost like quick-fix involves learning a new aspect of the game that vanilla players seem to ignore.

This sounds like the same people who complain that kritzkrieg should be banned because it is not the vanilla tf2 medigun, yet it is not banned because once people learned how to use it, and also how to counter it, it became just an average weapon.

Incredible, another person who makes a new account and thinks they know about how the game is played. Where have you played? Let us know who you are, what divs/teams you have played? Have you even been in-game to feel the difference between a 6's game with quickfix and a normal game without?

#11 how 2 balance quick fix in TF2 General Discussion

Literally got several medic picks and got our medic killed because the pocket wanted to retreat and RJed before the medic was ready. Result was medic flying straight up in the air while the rest of the team kited the push.

Did the Medic/Soldier not communicate correctly? Probably Yes. However, that doesn't mean the item mechanic is good for competitive play. Little gimmick items like this are the main reason the quality of 6's play will go down.

#252 Global Whitelist Lists Post-Meeting in TF2 General Discussion

Yeah, first scrim tonight was with new whitelist weapons and was beyond total garbage. No thinking, no strategy, just people flying around and hoping for the best. I am glad the teams we played afterwards all agreed to just play normal 6's

unfVulcan??? Look at old cs, where bunny hopping was allowed and people could abuse the shit out of it and get behind enemies super quickly, grenades in tfc are really broken, and ctf is a flawed game mode in general
repeating the same thing i called you out on doesn't all of a sudden make it true

csgo still has bunnyhopping, congrats cheaters are in every game with or without bunnyhopping, theyre not exclusive

grenades 'really broken' in tfc is probably the vaguest and dumbest thing you've said to date and you havent given an actual reason yet

i have a suspicion you're just parroting things you read somewhere and you've never played tfc or 1.6

You are correct unf, he is simply talking out of his ass, as referenced by these posts a few weeks ago

#24 Global Whitelist Meeting in Events
MR_SLIN@SpaceCadet, I've tried growing the game before through methods like mentoring, streaming, youtube videos, casting, and putting together tournaments like the recent FACEIT cup. I've tried a lot of things to try and grow this game, and I'm not going to pretend like I'm the best person in the world at doing it which is why I encourage you or anyone else to take a stab at it. But, I do feel like I'm putting forth my best effort and that's why I took offense to your earlier comment. If we had lots of manpower and volunteers, we could try to recruit people to our scene but even that fades (look at newbie mixes for an example, since coaches are volunteers and volunteers are limited). Growing pug websites like stadium and pugchamp, leagues like ESEA or FACEIT, or recruiting sponsors has been met with adversity as well.

Never once have I said anything to put down your effort to improve the community and I never will because I want TF2 to grow and prosper as well. I appreciate all the individual effort members of this community do for no reward like casters, production, etc.

You brought a lot more to the discussion than what was mentioned in your OP. You are now talking about the game-mode, rule-sets, universal map choices, etc.

My comments were directly strictly at what I thought this discussion was about, the whitelists. If you feel the whitelist discussion is a necessary "first step" to take before trying to solve larger problems with TF2 then that is fine and I wish you luck. I just didn't understand what gain there was for a 2 hour talk about universal whitelists on a player level.

marmadukeGRYLLSEven though its depressing as fuck because my stats are awful that invite database is fire bro dont let the haters keep you down

Thx, appreciate it but don't feel so bad. At least you HAVE stats. I will likely never get to add myself to my own database no matter how hard I try.

I might have to pay some team captain and Rudy Ruettiger that shit for 1 regular season match. =)
