#4 ESEA Match Demo Download in TF2 General Discussion
Ieeesea downloads the pov demo for you but idk what happened to the stv ones

Strictly talking about the STV. I have my POV but would like to watch other matches from other teams.

I seem to remember this breaking at some point last season or the season before? I could be completely wrong but I think it broke after a large TF2 update.

Does anyone know why no STV downloads are available for ESEA matches anymore?

sibbyowlcometyo how do u guys deal w people tilting in matches on ur team cuz u start losing? it never happened during scrims and it honestly sucks

There is a difference between "tilting" and "being toxic". Sometimes it can be difficult to identify which trait your teammate has but the longer you play with someone, you can feel out their personality for the answer.

IMO, a player prone to tilting can be fixed by the teammates around him being calm and acting mature when dealing with him as he is tilting. Usually that attitude rubs off on younger and slightly immature players and they learn to change mentality.
On the other hand, "toxic" players typically never learn to be part of a team and always bring other players around them down to their level. This stuff causes teams to perform poorly or, in most cases, die after a few weeks.

If you identify a player as being "toxic" to your team chemistry in mumble or in-game, my suggestion would be for you to cut him or her ASAP and find a replacement. Even if that replacement is not as skilled, it will still be a positive move for the overall team.

Lauren had more appearances in this trailer than b4nny's cat. One can only hope that travesty does not happen again in the real documentary.

#4 How to improve solly movement? in Q/A Help

Sometimes when I am fighting a scout on low health and I cannot RJ away, in the middle of dodging with A-D I like to hit duck and stand still for a split second and then continue to dodge with A-D again. Can't tell you the number of times it allowed me to get a kill I wasn't supposed to get because it fucked up the scouts aim.

As far as soldier vs soldier, if you are playing against good players, most soldiers are going to hit you for at least some damage when engaged. Surfing that damage for speed is the best dodging possible but if you want to work strictly on your DM movement I would get a friend and MGE on ENDIF. In the old days we would not go for airshot kills to win. You simply help each other work on mid-range DM movement and surfing damage without having to worry about killing each other.

#93 trump's muslim ban in World Events
eeeBBiA_duchessrocketslaySpaceCadetI really wish Trump was into this stuff.

Everything people worry about would be so small and petty if we were all in real danger.
i feel like we're screwed no matter what if an asteroid of any considerable size decides to mosey on down to planet earth

Yes we completely are there is zero way to stop it. Nuking it is impossible, and even if we could, we would just be hit by a lot of smallish meteors instead of one big one, which isn't really better
this isn't true for multiple reasons

1. Space is fucking huge. If we saw a minor planet about to impact us it'd have to be so close that we realistically couldn't warn everyone before it hit for us to not be able to redirect it by ~.5% and still have it miss by a wide margin. Space is so big and the earth so small that even absolutely tiny changes in the path of the object would cause it to miss massively
2. multiple small rocks hitting is objectively better. Any explosion that would shatter a meteor would spread them far enough that most would then miss or be deflected. The few that hit would be much more degraded by the atmosphere (surface area to volume ratio wins again) and less likely to deal damage
3. we're pretty aware of most things that will approach earth in a reasonable time span. It is highly unlikely anything significant enough to actually threaten humanity would have been missed by now

As much as you try and flaunt your seemingly high intelligence, it is amazing that you can still make a serious post like this with such a high level of naivete.

#76 WhatisOneThingYouThinkWouldHelpCompTF2TheMost? in Off Topic
mousiopei was reading a bit of cs go history and how skins boosted the game popularity and did a bit of research and found this reddit post that matches some of my ideas
https://www.reddit.com/r/tf2/comments/53iutv/the_competitive_crates/
i dont think it would be that hard to create stuff like competitive crates with workshop content that drop at the end of a match.
you got 18 ranks divided by 3 you get 6 sets of crates numbered by the rank you play.
bigger ranks mean more rare weapons, even if these people dont play competitive it would be an incentive for the people that actually play it, to get these crates and be able to sell them for money or whatever.
i see some of these kids play 300 tours of mvm the same fucking map with the same bullshit over and over just to try to get gold weapons or a golden pan, turn this into a fun experience with MM with placement matches, get drops at the end of the match, boom everyone profits and it shouldnt be too hard to implement it

Something like this would be a cool perk for newer players to join the competitive scene. Problem is that Valve's version of Competitive 6's (MatchMaking) is competitive in name only. MatchMaking doesn't give newer players a real feel for the 6's game and is basically a 6v6 pub where you can do anything you like.

Until Valve fixes and tries to make MatchMaking more like actual competitive 6's (FaceIT pugs) then any weapon skin or unboxing incentives are a worthless effort.

TF2 has a huge amount of players but the overall community is fractured so badly that it may not be possible to bring Comp 6's to where we all want it to go. If you compare TF2 to CSGO you can see this divide more clearly.

CSGO players can be scrimming or pubbing and the vast majority are playing the exact same game mode with the same objectives as the Competitive scene. That translates to new players jumping into the CSGO comp scene with little change from the normal game they just installed and played. This can be said for other games like Overwatch as well.

TF2 players have a larger amount of game modes to choose from and there is no way to funnel the player base into the 6v6 comp game mode at this point. Players are not going to give up on payload and other Highlander type games so for the average TF2 player, there is no push or drive to enter the competitive scene like there is in CSGO.

In every previous Team Fortress generation, starting with original Quake, the goal of competitive play was always centered around CTF. The TF classes were created with the abilities to defend or capture a flag. This was always the format for competitive Team Fortress and that meant new players were automatically playing the competitive side of TF after they installed so any move to Competitive play was a simple and easy transition.
That simply did not happen with TF2 although CTF was played in the beginning. However, the old CTF maps were very poorly made (example: 2Fort or Well) and there was little or no effort to change them in order to fit TF2. That is when 6's took hold and never looked back to CTF, there were much better maps for 6's and it was a fresh new way to play the game.

Unfortunately, 6's is not what new players first experience when they install and play TF2 which is why I compared it to new players in CSGO and Overwatch. Considering TF2's age and fractured state, I really don't know how or if it is possible to get the player base we all want and need for 6's to really jump to for the forefront of the TF2 world.

Well yes. Presently we really have no reliable way to defend the planet. That is why I wish he was more into that field so we could use our money for projects in space.

Once we all focus our efforts towards space and leave this planet to explore is when we can finally leave our infancy as a species behind. Just 1 mans opinion.

#37 Se7en is the reason why people call 6s stalematey in The Dumpster
DreamboatSpaceCadetDreamboatI still blame EVL for the badlands game.

Other than that I found se7en to be mostly entertaining. The amount of talent in that line up and big plays they made was huge.

I posted a reply to your opinions in another thread, maybe it was missed. Curious, does any of that thought process maybe change your opinion of EVL and that particular stalemate?

I did miss it. I see where you're coming from with se7ens lack of posturing, but regardless they were never in a position to push since the pick advantage wasn't enough and any movement to a push would be read by corsa, not a great situation to push from. Not to mention moving up and pressuring choke could potentially open you up to the spy pick. I still feel the issue was that corsa did nothing in spy for as long as he did was what caused the stalemate. I just never see a reason for se7en to push in that situation.

I would agree but 7 never knew corsa was on spy so this line of thinking doesn't fit.

If 7 knew corsa was on spy they would have immediately pushed mid after the purpleshirt bombs because 6v4 fight with even uber exchange. That is a no brainer. Problem was that 7 didn't know anything going on at the mid point because they stuck to simply defending.
