#52 we need to talk in TF2 General Discussion
SheepylolOnd_kaja
1. Don't use IRC without protection (VERY important):
When you join a channel in most IRC servers, your IP can be grabbed with minimal effort. How to protect yourself differs from server to server, use google. A bouncer is the best protection.

2. Don't accept random skype/steam calls. Steam/skype voice calls are P2P so they can get your IP from this.

3. Don't click fishy links. Could be an IP grabber.

Just a little bit of common sense will protect you from most vulnerabilities, having to do further than basic efforts scares away most script kiddies.

For preventing server ddoses:

1. Go offline on steam (otherwise the IP will be shown in "view game info") BEFORE joining a server.
2. Don't use serveme.tf servers. They are great, but they are also not protected.
3. Server cvar "hide_server 1" so it doesn't show up in the server browser.

The RheinBrigade servers and all French ones on serveme.tf are DDoS protected. The issues we're having at the moment is the type of attacks aren't being mitigated on these servers.

#1 UGC EU Platinum Grand Final: Stacked vs Chessclub in TF2 General Discussion

We've come to the end of a very enjoyable Season 12 at last with Tourettes Chessclub taking on Stacked. We saw these teams face each other last week in the Upper Bracket final where Stacked took home both rounds on Badwater knocking Tourettes Chessclub into the Lower Bracket Final. However, despite this defeat, Tourettes Chessclub have come back with a 2-1 victory over Splendid-Gaming on Thursday propelling themselves back on track and into today's long-awaited, highly sought Grand Final played across Gullywash, Gravelpit and Viaduct Pro. With the title of Season 12 victor at stake, we are in for a tough fight between both sides for the prize. Tune in to find out!

Coverage provided by BlackOut TV from 21 CEST/14 EDT on 14th April with Haydn & Ryushi casting with Jon on the camera.

#1 BlackOut Gaming Major Updates in Off Topic

Greetings!

In the next few weeks, we will be migrating our servers from our current host to another along with a new and updated dedicated server box with added benefits that currently are not provided. We aim to slowly move each server week by week to reduce disruption. Along with the switch will come a change to our gameserver IP's and structure of server order.

In addition, we will also be launching our new forums and retiring the current ones to the internet graveyard.

All detailed information regarding these changes will be provided in the coming weeks. We hope for you to bear with us over this time and to continue to enjoy your time on BlackOut Gaming servers!

Kind regards,
BlackOut Gaming Management
