ETF2L has recently announced another Preseason Map Cup for Season 36. As per usual, ETF2L will use these cups to experiment with their map pool in-between seasons and this time they’re using the cup to test out two KotH maps and a CP map:

  • koth_clearcut_b14
  • cp_villa_b12
  • koth_bagel_fall_b7

Sign-ups for this cup are open until May 1st at 21 CEST, so make sure to sign-up to help the league test their map pool and try out the new maps! Details of dates can be found in the ETF2L thread.

ETF2L has also been looking at the plugin made by twiikuu which attempts to fix some of the major issues people have with contemporary TF2. This is not only limited to some quality of life bug fixes but also the infamous medic speed buff, which many people claim has dumbed down and jeopardized TF2’s gameplay they all know and love. A full list of the plugin's changes can be found on the TF.TV thread.

This plugin is not in place for the upcoming Map Cup, but look out for a post from ETF2L announcing their plans for this plugin in the future.

Glad twiikuu is the only one named in this post, truly the destroyer of tf2.

@b4nny thoughts?

if the point of a map cup is to test a potential map pool change, it makes sense not to introduce another change.

However if ETF2L truly considers using the plugin for the season then a plugin cup should be held.

Would be cool to get info on what maps would be replaced or if we'd get 2 one week 5cp maps like in season 33.
