Was doing some research checking out what the tf2 scene was like in South Korea and China, stumbled upon this Chinese game. Worth a chuckle. The game is called Final Combat.

This was posted on SPUF over a year ago when the first trailers came out. There were a lot of interesting discussions on this topic.

One of the more interesting things was that the makers of the game claimed that Final Combat came before TF2 and that TF2 was ripping them off. Also, no rocket jumping.

The main picture you posted there shows each games classes 2x to make it look like there are more than one. They just used different skins for each one.

Whilst it would almost certainly play bad, the visuals look really nice in its overly cartoon animated style.

Also, the rockets are preparing to invade South Korea.

A slightly less egregious ripoff would be H.A.V.E. Online. They called it MicroVolts when it came to North America. It looks like third person TF2 with every single anime skin from fpsbanana installed.

This game copied maps from Tf2, like harvest.

At least microvolts tried something different with the maps

I always thought MicroVolts was trying to rip off Quake, more than it is TF2.

SherbI always thought MicroVolts was trying to rip off Quake, more than it is TF2.

If it was, it did it very poorly. I played it and then dropped it in a couple days. I mean, there's no speed component to the game at all; it was just a third person shooter.

Interestingly enough, in my capacity as UGC admin, we've started to get more and more PRC residents inquiring about their ability to play TF2.

I imagine what happened to final combat, in a land of piracy and boot legging software, valve going F2p pretty much annihilated any opportunity for Final Combat (a rip off of 2 different games) to make any money. Not to mention that it looked awful besides the art style and the meet the videos lol.

Turn on captions if you don't speak Chinese. This video explains the game mechanics and the blatant plagiarism inside this game.

My favorite part is at 4:30 where he goes over a remake version of koth_harvest.

Not_MatlockOne of the more interesting things was that the makers of the game claimed that Final Combat came before TF2 and that TF2 was ripping them off. Also, no rocket jumping.

This is probably one of the most dumbest statements, considering Valve announced TF2 in 1998. I'm pretty sure some shitty game like Final Combat won't be needing over 9 years to develop everything (Valve delayed TF2's development two times).
