SVIFT rises again as Season 32 looms over

While the days of the global SVIFT empire may be gone, the hunger for titles certainly has not faded from their overlord SVMZI, who announced that a new generation of SVIFT is on the way. Poaching talent from other top teams as well as grabbing a few returning players, this new SVIFT roster is built like a giant-killer, and could cause many upsets.

Scruff and Mr.Epic kick off the roster as the team's Scout duo. Scruff gradually made a name for himself in the top flight, first with OMNI5 ESports EU, where he got 3rd place in his first season, and later with Ora Elektro last year. His discipline and composure made him one of the biggest assets in Ora Elektro’s i63 run, where they placed 4th.

Mr.Epic brings his Premiership experience as a former a core member of the Lowpander squad that reached playoffs three seasons in a row. More recently, he reached third place with the bin, and was a part of the fellowship squad that disbanded last season. Winning Off-classer of the Season twice, the Russian scout has also made a name for himself as one of the most feared Snipers in Europe.

iatgink and papi reunite once again under the SVIFT banner, having both entered Premiership with nunya. Iatgink is primarily known as a Scout player, but his recent stint as the bin BLACK’s Roamer ended in a respectable 4th place, and he was also the pocket for Ora Elektro at Insomnia63. Funnily enough, papi was brought in as a replacement for iatgink last season on Ora, but his best finishes were achieved with SVIFT in Season 30 and Lowpander at the ESU Community Rumble, with his teams placing second in both events.

Czech powerhouse lukas fills the Demo slot, and while he's often noted for his incredible DM, he’ll surely be looking to improve on his best finish: a 4th place with the bin BLACK. Finally, seeds joins as the team's Medic, a role he's come to be admired playing. Coming from the old Faint Gaming squad, his inch-perfect positioning and experience on Se7en will come in handy when SVIFT goes up against the titans of Premiership.

Originally created to compete at i61 of which they finished 2nd, SVIFT has historically reached the podium in every competition they were a part of. Their best finish was in their first Premiership season, winning Season 28, albeit in the absence of the European powerhouse Se7en. After a one-season break, they returned in Season 30 and at i63, coming in second and third place respectively. It's worthy to note that SVIFT revamped their roster during every hiatus they took, changing it almost completely every time. This time will be the first that founder SVMZI will not be a part of the team, with papi standing as the only player who has previously been a part of a SVIFT variant before.

We called in for papi, who responded by dropping some slighty confusing truth bombs at our demand.

I am very excited for the new season of ETF2L, however forging this new team has had traumatic journey.

For some weeks now ive had to deal with the fact that I'm going to play another season with gink. Obviously, this isn't an easy matter to come to terms with, so the team has had some group therapy that should see us through until week 3. I'm sure our new roster can take Prem by storm and hopefully upset some of the bigger names. Team morale is high again and our scrim results are picking up and matching our form from last season with the change, and gink brings a lot we were missing on the roamer role.

With the roster and team situation stabilizing, we're looking to put in a solid performance this season, aiming for the lower playoffs spots or failing that, a 7/8th place finish. The team is hopefully attending Copenhagen LAN in it's current form or potentially with yllen on pocket.

Tailored to compete at the top level, the SVIFT roster is:

  • Scout: Scruff
  • Scout: Mr.Epic
  • Roamer: iatgink
  • Pocket: papi
  • Demoman: lukas
  • Medic: seeds

Alright I'll give you my terrible secret : I despise brits in all their forms and I lump them all together under the UK flag.

The real reason is both me forgetting how to do the flags that are not UK, and the fact that once 4 players are from the same nation, the team gets that nation's flag (hence the Union Jack in front of SVIFT) and I don't really know how that would works with countries that are a part of the same nation.
