nations/states cup for other regions

Europe has the nations cup, and Australia has state of origin (idk if this is still active). Why don't NA, Asia or south America do something similar where players from different countries/regions can compete. I know any country can play in the nations cup but ping is still a significant issue especially in the 6s version.
