Just noticed this today. I'm getting 100 fps but instantly get 250-300 when I press tab. Help?
So after deleting my hud I still have this exact issue. There also seems to be a memory leak at the same time. I'm certain that this is the update

thats a really weird issue, given that usually pressing tab tanks your frames.
what hud do you use? what are your specs?

I use axhund, comaglia mid-pc config. I recently enabled mouse input on the scoreboard but I just disabled it an no change.

ok so I just removed my hud and now I'm dicking around on rocket shooting to test and it's currently smooth. But I decided to do the ol' cl_showfps 2 and while I'm getting 3-400 right now it says 4-600 with scores open. Maybe it was the update lol

new strat: move all of the tab info to the side of the screen and make it small, add +showscoreboard to autoexec

Had the same issue and was fixed when I switch hud.

Had the same problem. Changing huds doesn't fix it, and the longer I play on a single map the worse it gets - from an average of 600-700 idle all the way down to below 90 if I'm grinding up to an hour on a jump map or something.

That's the one thing I am absolutely certain it is not. I've monitored my computer's temperatures while dealing with for extended periods (2-3 hours at a time) and the maximum temperature for cpu/gpu has ever consistently reached while this is happening is 70-72c.

i had this issue and it fixed when i switched to a newer version of mastercomfig. dont know much more about it. mastercoms didnt even know why the newer config fixed it

I'm pretty sure I solved it. The HUD doesn't matter, if you have a new item message queued for a while it will lag. Pressing 'j' to clear this out will immediately restore ur frames. thank you for reading
