Just wanted to announce it here too: I'll still continue working on the HUD, version 2.6 is on its way.

Here's a new set of numerals for Surface, the font used throughout the HUD:

Let me know what you think of these :)

That png doesn't look much different than the current version. Which is totally fine with me since I love Broeselhud and have been using it for so long. I'm excited and happy that you are continuing to work on the hud Broesel, I don't know what I would do without it.

My biggest gripe with the old BroeselHUD was the font and lack of custom crosshairs (I'm a lazy cunt), this is much better. Some colour would also be nice. :)

Keep up the amazing work <3

Already done, I started working on version 2.6 almost 3 months ago, but had neither time nor motivation to continue working on it (till now).

There's an app for that.

Even if you didn't use the installer, changing colors in broeselhud is very easy, most of the major elements and their color values are at the very top section of the clientscheme.res. Also, there are currently 16 crosshairs built into broeselhud, to me that's a pretty decent amount.

As well as the built in crosshair, you can mix and match them. The only problem with that is that some crosshairs have odd lengths/widths and some have even, so they don't line up right :(

Will there be xhair support for different resolutions in 2.6? :> The installer just makes some xhairs(like the dot) as close to the center as possible but isn't exact.

WaldoThe only problem with that is that some crosshairs have odd lengths/widths and some have even, so they don't line up right :(

To fix this, change the crosshair size - a majority of the crosshairs looks good at most sizes :)

For 2.6, I reworked the crosshair font so that HUD crosshairs will be centered without having to adjust the xpos, ypos, wide and tall values. The only thing that can't be fixed is the size issue, but I already thought about employing some slaves to note down 5 "perfect" sizes for each crosshair at each resolution, which could then be entered into the Installer's database. You'd then be able to choose sizes from 1 to 5 in the installer for a crosshair and have the size attribute automatically adjusted in hudlayout.res upon hitting the "Install" button, similar to how the alignment gets done by the installer at the moment.

GeknaiirWill there be xhair support for different resolutions in 2.6? :> The installer just makes some xhairs(like the dot) as close to the center as possible but isn't exact.

The alignment values for the installer were "hand-made" by crosshair aligning slaves, there's no algorithm behind that. If you find misplaced crosshairs, add me on Steam and report them to me so I can update the database with the correct values (though it will be rather obsolete in version 2.6, as mentioned above).

Can you make it so you can select two different custom xhairs but have one in minmode and another that isn't in minmode?

this is not entirely related to the update, but is there a way to see one of your custom crosshairs instead of rather than in addition to the default?

I'd have to work together closely with imp4ct, as he'd be coding it. Unfortunately we both don't have a lot of time for that kinda stuff :/

Lights_Would you be able to add the option to create an outline for damage numbers?

This is really easy to do yourself, although I'm not sure why you would want - you see here in huddamageaccount.res that the damage done consists of two fonts - one is the main font and the other is the "shadow" for the font. This shadow gives the illusion of an outline somewhat, but is much more "neat" and clean looking than actually using an outline.

However, if you really wanted to use an outline, all you have to do is:
1) go to your clientscheme.res
2) press cntrl+f for "find" and search for "surface26"
3) change the outline value in surface 26 to a 1/on
4) in huddamageaccount.res - in the second section "DamageAccountValue" change the visible to 0 (this is the shadow font and since you're using an outline now I don't think you need this anymore.)

That's it.

It would be more convenient to have in the hud installer, I just thought it would be a good addition.

Thanks, though.
