hey everyone, I know a lot of people who it's insanely hard to admit their sexuality to their fellow peers, but I'm hoping we can change that. I want an environment where we can accept everyone for who they are, and stomp out discrimination. And if this fails miserably, but you still want to talk to someone about how confusing all these feelings are for you, please add me.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Generally, Canada and the bigger cities in NA are more accepting. Try to be gay in Eastern Europe, it's literally a nightmare sometimes.

I've heard that people living closer to the European border of Russia have a much better mindset than those in the rest of the country. The worst place to be gay at the moment is the Middle East - India decriminalised homosexual intercourse only a month ago, and Saudi Arabia still apply death sentences to homosexuals (or life imprisonment, severe kinds of tortures and others). A few generations need to pass until LGBT theme becomes 'not-taboo' for the majority, but things have certainly improved over the past 30-40 years - most importantly regarding STDs and HIV particularly, also regarded as the new 'Plague' or 'gay cancer'. I read a rather heartbreaking story of the situation in San Francisco, 1980s - of it becoming a massive graveyard, people watching most of their friends dying in pain and suffer, holding their hands during their last breaths before they drown in their own blood. Science advances and better sexual education (which still leaves a lot to be desired) ensured a much better world to live in today - HIV might not be cured completely but could be controlled, a person can be diagnosed positive and still survive to his elderly years, most of the STDs are curable, too.

So, you can be all throwing all kind of jokes about it, but people have truly gone through hell so we can be where we are today.

i feel like im bi but its probably one of those white girl things where u say/think u are until ur out of college. its really only one out of many things that stresses me out (and my parents have already expressed their distaste about even the possibility of my brothers and me liking boys) but i feel like knowing for sure and accepting it would ease off some pressure. anyone know wtf to do.

The only strong, intimate, and mutually assured relationships I’ve had were with men. Although this is true, I am not sexually attracted to the same sex. I guess you can say I’ve loved guys before, but not in a sexual way.

I have been with women many times prior, and our relationships were by no means tarnished by sexual relations. It just didn’t work out. Perhaps the problem lies within me.

I admit, I am confused. But maybe I just haven’t found the right one, whoever that may be.

i struggled with this a lot and was in denial about it, if you are, then you are. only you can say, and being in denial about it won't help. Sexuality is very complicated and its more of a gradient than a binary state. just because you're attracted to someone who is a man doesn't mean you're attracted to all men, and you have to factor in what you find attractive.

dont know how old you are but assuming still in highschool, figuring out yourself is very difficult and its something a lot of people struggle with. Don't worry so much about whether or not you're gay or straight or bi, thats only how you define yourself to others, and theres no point if you don't understand yourself to begin with.

as for your parents, its typically the initial shock of their child being homosexual that upsets them, and they will begin to accept it. However some people are unable to accept it, and you know your parents better than i do, for some people its best to stay closeted as far as their parents go.

Cyanicmy family thinks my sister is a lesbian and seeing how its destroying my mum makes me glad i never told her i was gay :/

Your sister is almost certainly not lesbian if you are gay. There is a tendency that every younger brother has a ~1% higher chance of being gay, so if your sister is younger than you, she is most probably also attracted to men.
