Global Whitelist adjusted

Leagues from across the world have announced the changes to the Global Whitelist as TF2 competition prepares to kick off.

Only a few changes were made to the whitelist. The Dalokohs Bar and the Pomson 6000 was approved for play, while the Rescue Ranger will be benched onto the list.

ESEA admin tri_ gave a statement regarding the changes:

Since there wasn't sufficient time to test possibly game changing items like the Quick-Fix and the Solemn Vow, we only unbanned two items that were unanimously considered non-factors in the game and banned the Rescue Ranger based on general consensus from the top players in each region. We had a similar process for leaving Jarate unbanned (opinions were more split on Jarate), and the final decisions were made by admins of each region.

The league admins were never really pushing for the Quick-Fix and the Solemn Vow to be allowed or even considered, so its not like we're banning them based on community backlash - they were never even really considered by the main admins.

The Global Whitelist will be put into effect for ESEA Season 24, ETF2L Season 26, and the upcoming ozfortress season.

The full whitelist can be viewed here.

If people couldn't handle the quick fix for a week, will the world survive 4 years of trump?

Tri was arguing against the quickfix during the whitelist meeting so I think it's a fair statement.(if I have tri mixed up for someone else feel free to correct me)

maybe but his sentence looks like «we didn't ban quickfix because everyone was asking for it but because we decided »

Haven't played in a while but I thought people hated the pomson cause of the uber drain mechanic. Did it turn out that it doesn't matter?

It doesn't penetrate players anymore and the uber drain scales with distance so the argument is basically if an engie runs into a medic close enough to drain a few % of uber a) your team really fucked up and b) if he had a regular shotgun that medic would've dropped or forced instead.

It definitely was tri.

They said we should try it at first, before making a decision to keep them banned or unban them.

its just funny that someone would go out of their way to let us know its 'not because of community backlash'
what positive effect could a statement like that possibly have, except for making me laugh rofl
