I legitimately want to hear their mindset on this one. Valve has had their fair share of questionable decisions but in what world do they think these maps need to be tested in a 6s format above the commonly accepted cp/koth maps? Why are they treating finalized matchmaking as if it's still in beta? why even release it when you're clearly not content with the format yet? It's not like they did any testing during beta besides stress tests...

I legitimately want to hear their mindset on this one. This is garbage, this update could have been shat out by two people over a week period, obviously discounting the work that went into the community created stuff which valve can't be credited for even slightly.
As for these maps I'm honestly shocked. I'd rather play on fucking mario_kart than ctf_turbine.

i actually like the idea of there being one or two experimental maps that get cycled around until something is actually fun

But like dont remove staple maps for them remove shit like swift and gorge that people are actually complaining about

This being done well would require the tf2 dev team to have a lot of experience playing 6v6 tf2 in some competitive format, so that they could come up with good changes and test them effectively. Either it's not happening or it's not happening in a good way. Very likely the former

devs are so bad. it hurts.
-9v9 highlander: select gamemode(pl,ctf) and class.
by using binary cvar. scout 2, solly 4, pyro 8, demo 16, heavy 32, engie 64, medic 128, sniper 256, spy 512, all class-all added up together... adding up the ones selected you get a number variable like sv_selected_class "2" which gets sent to gamecoordinator. it takes people with all class first and then 'sv_sel_class' number decreasing until everyone is in. That makes queue fast.

-sixes: select gamemode(cp,koth|plr maybe) and class(as above idea).
jesus. matchmaking should still be in beta. open though. just everyone who wants.

Also i would like fives to be official format with class limits 1. demo medic locked. scout available to pick engie, sniper, spy and soldier-pyro, heavy. hp difference made me think of that. scout engie sniper spy-125hp.

1. let us pick maps

2. see the % of people who queue for which map

3. decide which maps are the best and people like playing competitive on the most
