Have a more open line of communication with the community, perhaps a weekly community interaction post or something on reddit/steam/twitter, where we can give feedback and get insight about where the devs see the game going. I know the Valve company line is basically about giving up as little info as possible between updates, so as not to contradict yourselves if things change down the line, but with a game that needs community involvement as much as TF2 does, that policy will end up doing more harm than good. At the end of the day, the average user going to be mad about something or other even if they don't know what's going on behind the scenes, so it's better for the people who do want to have positive involvement to have a way to provide input.

Apart from that, there are a lot of things that seem to basically be prerequisites to playing the game reasonably well, as far as editing config files and changing settings go, so having some of those be defaults, or at least easily accessible through the options menu, would be great. Speaking of the options menu, it would be nice to have the long, scrollable, list of multiplayer options changed into a larger panel with a few tabs, so that everything can be laid out a bit better. As it stands, some options are a pain to get to. It shouldn't be easier for me remember console commands for every option I want to change than to go and hit a toggle in a menu.

Christmas wishlists in September?
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CL_9EIzUsAAPhpU.jpg

But in all seriousness I've got quite a long list

  • more direct contact with the tf team so that we might actually have a chance to get somewhere before worse things happen
  • OPTIMIZATIONS PLEASE. Get more load on the GPU and relieve my CPU from such a heavy load
  • Nerfing scout or buffing a class that's a counter to scout because scout hasn't seen any sort of nerf in ages
  • Re-organization of some of the hud files for easier editing for hud people. My suggestions include
    1. Making the item effect bars' location follow a sort of 1,2,3 format instead of repositioning every individual file. The hudanimations/game would determine if an item that uses a hud bar is needed, then will either assign the said meter to one of 3 predetermined positions so hud makers don't have to edit every single file to fit inside the hud. It's a long one but it would make the lives of people updating old Huds (myself included) much easier
    2. Moving of the default health and ammo out of the far corners of your screen (I think someone else suggested something like this and I really liked it as well)
    3. Not sure if this is a bug or not but with the scoreboard that when my mat_antialias value is set to a certain value (can't remember what it was), the names, ping, class, and score get cut off. I may be the only one with this problem but the only way I could get the scoreboard to actually look normal was by a mat_antialias change

  • have fov_desired 90 a default option. It's painful to watch new players play with it because they're not getting the best settings that the game can give you. And frankly, I don't see much of an advantage from lowering your fov for general gameplay. Things like a zoom script for spies are the exception imo
  • Ban the cheaters. All of them. That one guy that hacks in DM servers and shittalks people when he has a "perfect K/D" should honestly be hardware banned because he clearly just makes another account to hack in tf2 once his other one gets vac banned.
  • Have in game demos record at the start of a competitive match rather than when you join a server, similar to how P-REC functioned

It's a long one but there's a lot there that I would love to see added

can they fix the thing where there are moving props that can have stickies attatch to them but the stickies just stay in their place in the world so you have floating stickies on mountainlab spawn or the where the trains were on freight
