i have watched the grand budapest hotel like 15 times and i would watch it 15 time more , @ anyone who hasnt seen that movie i highly recommend

deadpool has been the only movie that i've enjoyed in a long time

I'd never watched Bruno or Borat and watched both of them a few weeks ago, they were both hilarious. Any of the Cornetto trilogy (Shawn of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, World's End) are all really funny as well.

For more serious movies I watched Sicario, Prisoners, and Changeling recently and enjoyed all of them.

fantastic movie

I just saw Catch Me If You Can for the first time on my birthday a couple days ago, it was pretty entertaining. In terms of favourite movies period, though, and while trying to give some variety:

- Pulp Fiction, anything by Tarantino will be great for pop culture aficionados but everyone is on point and every story inside the movie is incredibly entertaining. Action, writing, some comedy
- Shaun of the Dead, Animal House or Monty Python and the Holy Grail/Life of Brian for comedies, the latter two will introduce you to so many references people make every day you might not know about and are HILARIOUS
- Die Hard is a pure action flick, and it features a badass Bruce Willis in a building beating terrorists up
- Unforgiven is without a doubt the best western-type movie you will ever see and has Clint Eastwood at his best
- Whiplash is my favourite movie to come out for many years, it's a music/drama with a thrilling ending and it's sonically strong the entire way through
- Anything with Kevin Spacey, he's a phenomenal actor (would strongly recommend American Beauty or my personal favourite, The Usual Suspects)

I'm a fan of a LOT of movies, but these are some solid ones. I was thinking of recommending Dr. Strangelove too, but I know black and white movies aren't for everyone. If you don't mind black and white, though, you should totally give it a try too.

I've watched quite a few movies and whenever I think something is my new favorite movie. I re watch Return of the King and it's still the best movie ever

Also if no one has seen it. 3:10 to Yuma with Christian Bale and Russel Crowe is one of the most underrated movies ever

I recently watched these two movies and these are my opinions on them:

Only God Forgives (2013) (Nicolas Winding Refn) 7.8/10
Only God Forgives is Refn's follow up to his, in my opinion, masterpiece, Drive. Without saying anything about the plot except that it may disturb you, I can safely say that the more I think about this movie and understand it, the more I like it. This film is slow and many people question its methods of telling its story, but I believe that, if focused enough, you can wait until the next advancement of story by taking in all the beautiful cinematography. The lighting and Cinematography is perfectly captured with great detail and really speaks about the dark nature of the film. Plus, it's got Ryan Gosling in it.

Black Mass (2015) (Scott Cooper) 7/10
Black Mass is a crime film about the real life mobster, Whitey Bulger. In this film, Johnny Depp plays out the events of how Whitey gained such power, and through doing so, exemplifies a truly nightmarish performance. I would call this a very good example of how to take a figure from real life and transfer that person onto the screen. Apart from this, I can't brag about anything else in this movie so lusciously. The second best thing to really mush about is the suspenseful action scenes of Whitey exacting violence upon others. The scenes are very bare bone with character and differentiation from other films action and use of violence and the only thing that saves it from not being too bad is its great use of score and Johnny Depp's performance. I love the stone cold look he has every time he kills someone. Aside from those factors, The cinematography is okay, the performances are decent besides Depp's, his is amazing, and story is plain and simple. It's a decent film.

dead poet's society, the perks of being a wallflower

Let the right one in might be the best horror movie ever.

Grab a Kubrick or a Tarantino, 2001, Clockwork Orange, full metal jacket, (sleeper pick is dr. strangelove or how I learned to stop worrying and love the bomb.), pulp fiction is a true boiling down of 90s filmography and then turned up to Tarantino's typical 11, Django unchained is one of favorite movies of the last few years.

Silence of the lambs is a must watch, as is minority report.

Probably the best WW1 movie there is to see. To think these guys and many others were real and went through this hell is hard to imagine. I seen it many times and whenever it is on TV, I usually just go get my DVD of the movie to cut out the commercials.
