Mercyless-the police officer sounds so unbelievably nervous. At least hes not some cold blooded killer but just probably very incompetent.
I have the belief that the horrendous shootings of black men have been due to both the systemic racism that exists in this country and the fact that our officers are not trained well enough to deal with these situations. These cops needs to be taught better tactics to talk down and prevent situations from escalating.
From all of the media that I have watched surrounding these violent shootings, it appears that both of the men in the videos were restrained and could not do anything- there was no reason whatsoever to engage them.
I think it's despicable what is going on right now and the constant violence and hate that courses through this country is devastating. At the end of the day, these officers get to go home and the families of these two men are missing their brothers, sons, fathers, uncles, and friends. My thoughts are with the families of these victims.

Because they are unarmed doesn't make them harmless or not a threat. No this does not in any way justify the killing, it could have been de-escalated, but the word "unarmed" gets thrown around to make the victim seem harmless. Guns can be reached for, cars can be weapons too.

holy shit the video was really fucked up
he literally stated that he had a legal license for concealed carry and that he did in-fact have a firearm in his possession
the fact that the cop not only fired on him but stood there and let him bleed out while his girlfriend asked to help shows incompetence

catfaceI don't think the cops that shot Alton or Philando were power hungry pigs who just wanted to shoot a black man because they were racist, it seems like they were just improperly trained and made very stupid decisions very quickly because they were afraid of dying that cost two people their lives.
To be fair, those cops panicking can be very much due to racism, even if they didn't have thoughts like 'ah, finally a black guy we can shoot'. If you perceive black people as inherently more dangerous and violent, you'll obviously reach for your gun faster than if you stop a white guy's car.
One of the least helpful thing you can do here is focus on individual officers and call them out as racist instead on bring the systemic racism within the police force and the poor training of those cops to attention. Extreme stress will rarely help you make sensible decision, and one of the easiest things you can do to stop black people from getting shot for no reason is provide cops with proper training for dealign with stressful situations, and ALSO make them understand that the kind of racism that effects these murders isn't always immediately visible.

ive never understood why people think mixing a forum for a game filled with egos, weeaboos, people that refuse to let things die, incredibly stubborn and politics. Is it bait? Like, Im being serious, do you enjoy seeing people like mustard and space write essays that go through one ear and out the other. Ive never understood why bringing politics like these that inheriently make friction for no reason and become some of the biggest threads that newcomers to the site will see first. Anything I commented on was what I viewed as participating in a "debate" on the subject based on what I personally support. I have learned that most times it is not a debate at all but turns into something much worse. In all honesty, just to be mentioned with mustard in the way you reference makes me borderline ill and I highly doubt that I will post anything further in those types of threads in the future regardless of others comments.
