Any mods? sv_pure of the server you're on?

aieraCan you help all of us remove it?

Wouldn't be OP's issue (probably), but transparent viewmodels without one of the console commands changed will also cause particle effects (like rocket trails) to go transparent like the viewmodels. Would change every particle afaik, so you probably wouldn't want to fully hide them all, but you could go semi-transparent for more visibility.

Modding the rocket trail pcf file would be able to fully hide just the rocket trail, but I'm not sure if it'd work in sv_pure. It might be possible, but some pcf's let you remove particles in sv_pure and some don't for some reason. I'll test it out but I can't promise results.

Would this work for removing unusual effects?

I remember them blocking the removal of rocket trails back in like 2008 when thenoid's HUD was deemed borderline cheating. If you aren't seeing them, consider yourself lucky.

idk why you would want the smoke trail back. being able to see things after you shoot a rocket would be pretty cool.

Would this work for removing unusual effects?

Old unusual effects do work through the pcf method, because the item_fx.pcf they're in is one of the ones that leaks into sv_pure. There's a link to one to remove unusual effects on the nohats thread even that works in sv_pure (pretty sure it's not up to date with new effects but still). New effects are in different pcf's which I haven't tried out, but may or may not work in sv_pure unlike old effects which guaranteed do get disabled in sv_pure.

And pretty sure the transparent viewmodels way would work, but again, to keep important info (medigun beams, overhealed people, etc) you should probably only make them semi-transparent like the transparent viewmodels currently are.

Probably not the same issue, but I've had this happen sometimes when my game gets very slow and rockets/sounds/etc get delayed. The rocket will just appear late and without the trail. I fix this by clearing up space in my hard drive (rip tiny, single HDD).

Well I made a complete new version of the unusual effect remover but it only works in sv_pure 0 sadly. I made it to remove weapon effects too but I don't know anyone with one to test it out, so I dunno if that only works in sv_pure 0 too. Link for anyone that wants it anyway.

if someone wanna get killed by almost invisible rockets across the map and got amd card, theres a neat feature in the latest drivers which makes the smoke trail and heal beam invisible (and you to download older drivers)
