Overclocking your USB port in ESEA

SweetLow's HIDUSBF has been signed. You can now poll your precious IMEs and WMOs at 1000hz in ESEA.
It will work on 64bit operating systems without the need to be in "test mode".

On Windows 7, it only works with USB 2.0.
On Windows 8, 8.1 or 10, it works with both USB 2.0 and 3.0.

The latest version should work flawlessly on 7, 8, 8.1 and 10.
Download here or here.

jStar- from the esea forums has gotten the driver to be signed.

Thread on overclock.

edit: The (up to) 8000hz driver is now also signed, for whoever wants to give that a try.
Only for windows 8, 8.1 and 10.

download link for 1khz-8khz signed driver package. its all 3 different sets signed, and i made batch files that swaps the necessary hidusbf.sys files for each set. read the readme I made.

Link to download.

Probably not the right thread to ask this (as it might have been answered in another thread), but I'm genuinely curious as to what overclocking your usb does and how much of a difference does it make.

Whoever did this is an incredible person and I love you. WMO is still the best mouse by the way.

increases the perfect control speed for some mice, most notably the older microsoft ones. also makes it more responsive since it polls the sensor more often for data

how big the impact will be depends on things like your refresh rate(!) and in-game fps, but generally speaking you will see a big improvement from 125, up to 500 or 1000.
the difference between 500 and 1000 is less significant (obviously), but can still be a perceivable difference (smoother, quicker).

but the main reason this driver is used for is to bump up the "perfect tracking speed" of the old MLT04 mice (WMO, IMO, IME).
on default 125hz polling rate, if you do a flick and go beyond 1m/s (physical movement), the sensor craps out and your aim goes to shit. "overclocking" to 500+ will bring this cap up to 1,5m/s. (which is still not high, but it absolutely makes a difference.)

I bought the za12 and didn't like how it felt. I sold it to someone on my stream. I started using a wmo when I was 11. Dont care for anything else really.

OP updated with links to the latest version, it should now work without issues.
On Windows 7, it only works with USB 2.0.
On Windows 8, 8.1 or 10, it works with both USB 2.0 and 3.0.

If you run into an issue, please post here or in the thread @ overclock (link in OP).

Does this work with microsoft basic mouse?
I tried it and mouserate is still reporting an average of 125hz?

Awesome, i've been on 125 for a while ever since i fucked something up and couldnt restore/bother to restore. This saves a lot of hassle.
Panda: Maybe you're using a USB3 port? Mine works directly after installing and restarting service.

try downclocking the mouse, if it downclocks then it means that your mouse doesn't support overclocking over 125hz.
if it stays at 125hz then something went wrong in the process.

Yep it stayed on 125hz after down clocking.
The highest it's going to is 131hz

Prolly not the best thread to ask this, but I'm wondering if it's normal that the mouse rate drops to somewhere around 190-550(I have 1000hz polling rate) when moving mouse slowly?
I'm asking because I don't flick and move the mouse always quite slowly and wonder if it matters that the rate drops, as it's pretty steadily at 1000 when moving fast. The mouse is Zowie fk1 btw. I was testing with some Mouse Rate Checker.

yup, completely normal. you can get readings as low as 1hz, even when your mouse/port is set to 1000hz.

a simple but good way to check if there's anything significantly wrong with the polling, is to just move your mouse in circles for a few seconds at high(ish) speed. your FK1 should get ~1000 consistently (it's generally fine if it's off by a couple of dozens, especially if you have software running or a browser open etc).

this was working like 5 days ago but now when i click filter on device (necessary for oc) the mouse becomes unresponsive and i have to deselect it, using a second mouse. i'm using win10. i've tried different usb ports including 3.0 ones.
are other people having issues?

"the mouse"? which mouse? the same one you overclocked before?
if it was a different one: not all mice can be overclocked unfortunately

it was the same one: ime 3.0. i tried it with a wmo and had the same result which makes me think it's not just a mouse problem.
e: i just tried "install service" and then filter on device>restart with the ime and it worked perfectly fine so i have no idea, this wasn't what i did before

well that was exactly what you're supposed to do, so i'm not sure why it would even work if you didn't do it the same way the first time. glad you fixed it!

you don't have to re-do this process for a mouse, btw. the polling rate for your IME is now remembered for that specific port. re-booting or unplugging the mouse doesn't reset anything.
the driver doesn't actually overclock a mouse, it just tells that USB port to poll at 1000hz whenever it detects your IME.

edit: the (up to) 8000hz driver is now also signed, for whoever wants to give that a try.
only for windows 8, 8.1 and 10.

download link for 1khz-8khz signed driver package. its all 3 different sets signed, and i made batch files that swaps the necessary hidusbf.sys files for each set. read the readme I made.

Link to download.

That's a Wmo. The intellimouse is an ergonomic shape and has side buttons. People use them because they're light, really comfortable, they're quite durable, and a lot of people have been using them for years and are used to them.

Imo they have the most responsive sensor I've ever used. I switched from my ec2-a to a wmo on 125hz because the sensor felt better and I like really light mice. Since you can put them on an actual polling rate again and can get them for like $20 on newegg I think there's no reason to not have one. If it's not you main mouse it could make a good backup or something too.

^ what they said.
the only downsides in my opinion are the cable (it's thick), and the low cpi is a negative point if you are a high sens gamer.
and on the WMO i don't really like the switches, but they can be replaced if you can solder.

get the IME 3.0 if you want something ergonomic or must have side-buttons, otherwise i suggest the WMO (because the IMO has a funny shape, with 1 side-button on each side).
