I honestly prefer viewmodel_fov 75, as long as they don't force fov_desired anything under 90º.
MM was fun though. I played a map on CTF_doublecross (a map I've never played) and we barely lost 2-1 after our 100% useless engie (saying in chat "(TEAM) ill camp in spawn" like it's a strategy) pinged out and another player was AFK for half the match. I ran scout and teamed up with a random quick-fix medic and it made CTF extremely easy if you had any DM at all.

I know competitive CTF is a bad idea and generally not fun, but the time I had on doublecross was pretty great. I suppose it definitely was lower-level game, but scrambling from offense to defense with a team actually using mics wasn't all that bad.

Is it normal that the matchmaking button doesn't show up anymore when you're not on a stress test or have a beta pass? I thought you'd be able to see the menu and rank etc, although not playable.

Anyone know if the results of stress-test games actually affect rank for people without beta passes? I lost a few because of crashes (not sure what caused them, either).

I'm guessing you can use mat_dxlevel after you start the queue. I was able to change to dxlevel 81 while searching, but I wasn't able to fully connect to the server (not sure if related or not. Might have to use mat_dxlevel once in the server).

you have to have someone with dx9 invite you
if one person with dx9 invites 5 people with dx8 then the rest of them can play in dx8, it only checks the dxlevel of the person who is making the lobby

we were loading in as the stress test ended, a guy on the other team never connected (they only had 5 people with icons for readying up). We tried leaving, but once we got to the main menu, it would immediately reconnect us to the server. Quitting tf2 from console worked but then if you relaunch it apparently tried again rofl
