Your options, sorted by cost:
-Overclock higher.
-Xeon E3-1230 v3 / 1231 v3 (slightly lower fps when not streaming)
-i7-4790K

You can wait longer but it's not doing you any favours. Once all LGA1150 CPUs are out of stock you'd need a new mobo as well, so it'll be even more expensive.

#870
Any changes? More like all of the changes.
3 years old CPU and 4 years old mobo? Please no.
No reason for single channel RAM.
V300 is the SSD antichrist.
6 years old HDD. I won't even go into more details.
270(X) is cheaper and faster.
There's better and cheaper cases.
Better deals on other PSUs atm.
Fuck Windows 10. 8.1 is cheaper atm and you can still upgrade later if you think it's a good idea or if they actually fix it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxXs0Yy5-0Y You can still get Windows 10 if you don't mind, but I'd flip my shit when my pc shuts off during a scrim. I also hate popups with a passion.
XL2411Z >>> VG248QE, I've said it so many times, not gonna copy paste it again, just look it up.

Do you really need a "wifi thingy"?
Compatibility notes fixed by not getting an ancient cpu and mobo and a shitty case.

Dont get AMD multicores, most games are not able to use all of the, thus youre limiting your performance with better Hardware.
The BIOS compatibility thing just means that you might need to update your BIOS, however the case thingy means that the case is too small to fit all your parts (especially the videocard) in.
fade-870 -

Your CPU was never really that good when it came out. And it's been 3 years since then. Try going for a i5 4440 or i3 4130 build instead?

For your OS, get it off of /r/microsoftsoftwareswap for $15 instead. It might seem fishy, but it clears up budget for other parts of the build.

Unless you're really bent on using minimum graphics, I doubt you'll be able to hit 1080p 144fps on an i3/6300 and a 950. I mean, if it's only for TF2, then I think you can do that comfortably with Comanglia, though. Also, try buying a R9 280/285? I'm not sure how the 950 stacks up to its AMD counterparts so it may be fine.

thanks!

That puts you in a weird spot. It's a bit tight for an i5-4690, I don't think the 4590 is worth the premium, but the i3-4170 is far below budget.
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/RYgqJx

So I'd say go with the i3-6100. 6300 and 6320 aren't really worth 50% more.
Your options are:
-keeping your old RAM:
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i3-6100 3.7GHz Dual-Core Processor ($108.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-B150M-D3H DDR3 Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($64.60 @ SuperBiiz)
Total: $173.59

-getting DDR34:

CPU: Intel Core i3-6100 3.7GHz Dual-Core Processor ($108.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-B150M-D3H Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($59.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: Panram Ninja-V 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2400 Memory ($41.99 @ Newegg)

That would leave your APU+mobo+RAM usable as base for an office pc or whatever.

disregard my posts above
I am going to be making some upgrades to my CPU, GPU and Motherboard as well as others if needed. I have been experiancing some fps issues and screen screen lag.

GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 760 SC
CPU: AMD A10-6800K
Motherboard: Gigabyte F2A88XM-D3H
RAM: 8GB-DDR3 798MHz

I have heard that my CPU was bottlenecking so i have decided to use all of my christmas money as well as alot of my own to not only fix this problem but make my computer way better in the long run as well. My processer gets kind of hot so i think i might need a new fan or another fan. I would like to be able to stream if possible because that sounds fun. My budget is like 600 but i can do 650 i guess thanks for the help!

This is the first time I've tried to build a pc (played on laptop ever since I started TF2)
I made the push so I can play in 144hz, as well as improve performance in whatever other games I want to play in the near future (Dirty Bomb, Overwatch, etc), and some casual streaming.
For reference I currently use a Lenovo y510p laptop

im looking for a budget pc build that can run csgo 720p at 240+ fps. im mostly looking into computer parts of the 2014 standard. i have no experience with building a computer but an irl friend who has built a computer before is willing to help

for now im looking for a cpu/gpu that fit these needs and the cheapest compatible motherboard/case to go along with it

In terms of price (lowest to highest) it's obviously 1,2,3,4,5.
Performance (highest to lowest) it's 5,3,2,4,1.
4 and 5 got Skylake swag.
First decide if you want to overclock (3 or 5) or not (1,2 or 4). Then if you want to keep your old CPU + mobo + RAM as a combo (4 or 5) or if you're willing to cannibalize it for the RAM (1,2 or 3). It'll either be decided then there'll only be the choice between 1 and 2 left. Are you willing to pay 24% more for 16% more performance? Yes -> 2, No -> 1.
I should make a flowchart out of this.

No offense but I'll pick a PSU for you. You can obviously get a different one if you find a better one.

Pick a budget. "2014 game titles at a decent performance on 720p" doesn't tell me anything. I have no idea what you think is "decent performance" and both Watchdogs and Binding of Isaac Rebirth are "2014 game titles".

You said you "need the best cheap black friday deals" so I'm betting there is a budget restriction, otherwise you wouldn't care.

I can't do this blind.

Hello bois, im trying to buy the new skylake (i7 6700 1151) chip but they've been out of stock on Amazon for a while now. Anyone had experience with ordering from Amazon before and can give advice on if they are going to come back into stock at their cheap price any time soon?

Cheers

Hey there, looking to upgrade my video card and take advantage of the current sales going on.

I don't have access to my computer right now (visiting family) and I can't remember what the card specifically is, but it's an older AMD Radeon (something like 5-6 years old at this point) I'll be able to be more specific tomorrow when I head home.
For budget I'd like to keep it under $200 for this. I don't need a super high end card, I just don't want my computer to chug anymore.

Here are the rest of the specs:
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UD3H LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
CPU: Intel Core i5-3470 Ivy Bridge Quad-Core 3.2GHz
Memory: 2x Kingston 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600

Any advice is much appreciated, thanks guys!

Better GPU won't help at all in TF2.
And yes it's kind of important to name all parts you want to upgrade.
Still, upgrading the GPU won't help at all so don't do it.
Also figure out what I wrote at the end of the last post first.

#895
I could just recommend the best GPU <200$, but I'd rather not go overboard. Name a goal (fps/game/settings/resolution) and I'll find a card that does that and maybe a little more. Pretty much anything will be an upgrade from a 6 years old card.

I could just recommend the best GPU <200$, but I'd rather not go overboard. Name a goal (fps/game/settings/resolution) and I'll find a card that does that and maybe a little more. Pretty much anything will be an upgrade from a 6 years old card.

I'm looking to make a cheap PC (Between 400-600 USD) to stick in my living room. Don't want it to play anything at ultra, more for emulation purposes and some low intensity games (Source engine, Ultra Street Fighter 4 and other fighting games, maybe Rocket League) at 1080p60. Possibly small form factor so it can go on a entertainment center shown here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

#896 My biggest concern is being able to run Fallout 4 comfortably, right now it's damn near unplayable on the lowest settings. Any FPS boost in TF2 or other games would just be icing on the cake.

Better GPU won't help at all in TF2.
And yes it's kind of important to name all parts you want to upgrade.
Still, upgrading the GPU won't help at all so don't do it.
Also figure out what I wrote at the end of the last post first.

I have never overclocked and i dont know how so i think i am going to grab number 2 thank you so much for all of your help!

Some measurements? I'm not going to figure this out by using the PS4 as reference.
What kind of emulation?

#898
I'd say a 380 is already more than enough.

143$ for 60fps in Fallout 4 on Ultra / 1080p. Anything beyond that is definitely overkill.

Check your PSU though. It shouldn't be a problem, but it's better to make sure. And it the unlikely case that you do need a new PSU there's enough of the budget left.

Good choice, #2 would've been my favourite.
