phobiatoo bad this game is kinda boring to spectate

I don't think boring is the correct way to describe it. It looks cool since it's very modern and with lots of colors, but my only complaint as a spectator is that there's way too much visual clutter. And that's from watching a player pov and a spectator pov

Let's be real - early stages TF2 (at least in AU - before class limits n shit) was pretty boring to spectate. It took a while, but TF2 became progressively more exciting (at least for us, the players/former players) to watch as time went on. Remember when we had 0 unlocks? When we had no community maps? When we played CTF? cp_well?

Give it time. As long as Blizzard are pretty keen on listening to community feedback, then maybe they'll make a lot of positive changes for the good of the game.

Don't forget this game is essentially a month old - how long did it take us to decide that, with class limits, the optimal for TF2 was 2 scouts, 2 soldiers, demo, medic? It's not the best example (as I don't want this game to be super 'cookie cutter'), but just something to think about.

If you knew anything about modern blizzard you would realize how funny this statement is.

I mean even in the context of Overwatch the fov slider still doesn't show you the value you set it at. This literally could of been patched in within 30 minutes.(Hell the fact that it wasn't in the game in earlier builds is just rofl) You really expect Blizz to go the proverbial extra mile with OW when shit like this takes ages to get done? This is the same company who also when deciding to make a first person shooter game put in weird stuff like distracting reload animations and muzzle flashes that obscure crosshair and player models. Please don't expect them to give a damn about competitive fps integrity...yes they will push esports but only because it benefits them marketing wise.

Heroes Of The Storm barely changed from technical alpha -> release and it took months of literal community outrage for them to finally remove talent gating.

I'm not even criticizing the quality of their games just that in general they could give two shits about what the community wants most of time.

I do know stuff about Blizzard. After all, if you read my post "As long as Blizzard are pretty keen on listening to community feedback, then maybe they'll make a lot of positive changes for the good of the game." I never said they will or won't - I'm just being somewhat optimistic. After all, what do us TF2 players have to look forward to? Matchmaking? Sure that's gonna be cool and all, but that's just another somewhat grey area, no?

I know and understand that it may be expecting/hoping for a bit much, but you can't always be super pessimistic about stuff, no?

That graphic is really weird/inconsistent, why dont they mention numlocked came 2nd in Season 22 as well?
Why does knoxxx have placing for i46-i55 but mike doesn't?
No mention of numlocked's LoL career either?

To be fair it's pretty excusable to be pessimistic in this particular case as Blizzard has quite a bad track record of doing terrible balance or responding to feedback in any sort of positive/timely way.

I mean if this was Blizzards first time trying to make a potential esport and pushing it to be an esport that would be one thing, but both with SC2 and HOTS they've proven they kinda do poorly.

And even if we take this game in a vacuum absent of their history their so far retarded in-game settings and inability to really do any sort of tweaking upon them leaves much to be desired about the most basic game mechanics needed in an FPS.

i wasnt really paying attention when they screwed up SC2 but with HOTS it seems like the game was doomed from the start with how "Basic" it is, at least from a perspective of someone whose played both LoL and DotA.

oh and looking forward to marmaduke coming in and threatening to strangle me or something because he doesnt like my posts on an internet forum

phobiatoo bad this game is kinda boring to spectate

A lot of people would agree with this because with every push there are so many ultimates, overlapping shields, huge explosions happening at the same that it becomes hard to understand which team is winning the fight. All that mess quadruples on last points so from spectator's perspective it is hard to see if there is any strategy to the game or it is just a messy constant deathmatch. You can nitpick a lot of other things like spawn times, map balance, etc., nevertheless the game is in beta so a lot could still be altered and tweaked.

On the other hand, I do not see Blizzard toning down visuals much or making A/D viable so the general look and feel of the game is unlikely to change. Do not get me wrong, overwatch is really fun to play for now, but so was tc_hydro and cp_dustbowl. Since team fortress has better alternatives in the form of 5cp and koth, A/D and payload maps are considered inferior in terms of entertainment both for playing and spectating.

Also agree with everything Yuki says. We need to give ow time, but right now it's a mess.

tldr: Overwatch will live only if they shift from A/D to something else and make visuals less distracting.

Great to see TF2 players given the sort of sponsorship and financial backing they deserve for their skill, dedication to a video game and hard work.

Sad to see this isn't in TF2, the game they spent all of that time becoming great at.

HotS was a success, yet I've met no single person who considered it more than an in-between kind of game. The fact someone can sit down and with a straight face say "I'm a professional HotS player" seems hilarious to me.

HotS barely changed from alpha/beta, and I'm already seeing people beg for competitively viable changes in Overwatch, which I really doubt we'll see unless Blizzard changes their model entirely. Either they won't change shit and its dead on arrival upon release, or they do and it might actually be a viable competitor to TF2.

Also, can't make out shit in this game. I thought TF2 was bad at times.

forgot to mention that when payload goes to overtime, players on defence and offence switch d.iva, which in tf2 would equal to 6v6 tomislav heavy. And this overtime can go on for like 2 minutes or more until either side finally loses.
