I also think a lot of people are skimming over the fact that the main reason these guys are even in silver in the first place is because they have connections with a questionable UGC admin.

Ouch... Not sure anything I can say will be helpful when you've already decided I'm an asshole, so I'll just give it a rest.

I for one learned how to deal with playing against a full time heavy this season.

-fish-Are you guys really this disconnected from highlander you think it has no effect on how good you are? If you have the dm and gamesense good enough for multiple seasons of platinum HL you should not be in low silver for 6s. I don't care if you're "just offclassing and goofing off" the gamesense and dm carries over just the same.

I also think a lot of people are skimming over the fact that the main reason these guys are even in silver in the first place is because they have connections with a questionable UGC admin.

LOL! Never assume that they are good at all classes. Its like saying I'm plat spy, which I honestly have no idea how to play that class.

As mentioned above the UGC admin are aware of the situation. Like I mentioned before I was on that team and got removed. Even if I was roster riding, the admins couldn't take that chance. So it shows they are aware of the situation.

Team goes 4-3 in Silver:

"MUST BE SANDBAGGING".

Just because players have experience at a certain level doesn't mean they are always going to be that level and just because players don't have experience at a certain level doesn't mean they aren't able to play higher levels over time with practise.

For ETF2L 6v6 I played in Premiership a few seasons but it doesn't mean that I am "too good for High" and meanwhile as I don't practise and play as much, it's harder to keep your level up, whilst in High there are several good Demoman probably better than me that don't have the same experience, take Spudd for example, much better than me at the game but 3 seasons ago nobody would say that because he never played the level, just because he has never played the level doesn't mean he won't be better than people who currently do play the level.

Way I see it is teams should be happy to play versus players with good experience because then when you beat them on the journey from Lower levels to the Top, you can use it as a pointer to say "this is where we knew we were good enough to win the league". Instead you got all these players complaining they have to face "good" players, rather than actually try to beat them.

Terrible attitude and you will remain in the lower levels of the league for ages, I have never met a High level player thats complained about sandbagging in my life, maybe because they actually want the challenge?

The problem is you can't learn from a complete roll. The two rounds we won were from them throwing and offclassing.

if you're actually trying to improve as a team in ugc matches should be MAYBE like 5-10% of the TF2 you play anyways, scrims are way more important

why are you convinced we threw two rounds? we lost those rounds because those are the rounds we died on mid and didn't react in time to last being capped.

it's kind of hard for me to sit here and actually process the thought of your team thinking we went into the season with some stupid ass sandbag idea in play in a season where first place will get you an ingame participation medal.

we got placed in gold initially and had every intention of playing in gold until smobo actually watched some of our scrims either through nokks stream or codexas stream and saw we probably shouldn't be in gold. he told codexa who to remove, she did, he moved us down. it has nothing to do with some people on the team being friends with smobo since you seem to be convinced it does. the only thing the friendship thing got us was being able to skip the create a ticket part, a part smobo would have been on the receiving end of anyway.

we played tf2 once a week for an hour. all this juicy HL EXPERIENCE you bring up got us was a season where we went 4-3.

but yeah, we're sandbagging mid silver, or whatever

???

In the first round your team won, we wiped pushing your last. That's when one of our players offclassed to sniper to get a pick. He managed to get your med, but we lost about 4 players anyways and you rolled us all the way to last and capped.

In the second round your team won, we wiped at mid. We stayed at last, offclassed to a sniper to get a pick, and a heavy to hold behind the point. If that's throwing, I don't think you know how holding last works.

Finally, in all of the rounds played, we never ran a sniper to mid. I don't know why that was brought up in the first place.

Don't make shit up.

EDIT: FUCK YOU KYLE

I think people can learn from a complete roll, I think it's more like you can't learn from a complete roll because you think these guys are actually sandbaggers, evidence you can't actually decipher the real reasons you lose. And that isn't anybodies problem but your own, so maybe go through some Demos of them when they beat you and learn what they do well that you guys don't do well and then come up with ways to beat them instead of posting on the forums. Time spent viewing this thread is time that could have been spent on a Demo learning the art of countering Erika on Demoman.

musmausratonsourismyshEvery league UGC, ESEA, whatever, is going to have player playing lower than their true capability for a variety for reasons. It might be a desire to dick around or they might not have time to play in a higher more serious division or maybe they just want to seem like gods. As long as people want to do this it isn't gonna stop, this is true in games like CS:GO too and I'm sure it's true in other games as well. If it's any consolation this is true in Gold and Plat

http://www.ugcleague.com/team_page.cfm?clan_id=10255
http://www.ugcleague.com/team_page.cfm?clan_id=18325

and if you want proof for ESEA just look at the top open teams from the last few seasons.

Are you saying my team (Renegades) were sandbagging in gold? As you can see in our ugc pages, almost all of us have only played in steel/silver. Since you seem to be only going by team records, how about you check out blak in gold.
