The yoyotech fragmovie did that beautifully years ago. Also with player skins, model skins and even map decals. I reckon it shouldn't be that hard

For a live match, It is hard and requires the cameraman micro manage statusspec settings per match. We had this set up for an ESEA LAN once and it simply was not used because it was too much effort for too little reward.

For a frag video, yes it's just a matter of replacing materials.

Really? I remember ducky did that for tftv years ago (replaced some map decals at least, not skins nor cps but it should be similar) when StatusSpec didn't even exist yet. And according to him was just a matter of having the organized labeled files at hand so he could replace them on demand.

Switching teams out from map to map is more difficult due to how the game caches materials and textures. StatusSpec can be used to move the changes to models, which are easier to change since they're reloaded per map. It still requires the commands to be input before the map changes, though.
