I like the way this Didge guy writes, professional looking. Better than trying to read blackfoger's posts thats for sure.

Please help me understand what this is about so we can best support you. I like that people try new ideas and give it a shot instead of just talking about it. So I am wondering If i wanted to launch a tournament with AG, for instance a TF2 Ultiduo tournament, how would your site be useful to me? Would you set up the tourny, is it just for announcing it? Do you have servers? The main question is why would I come to you when AG can hold it just as easily?

Nahanni, the ESA is a tournament provider. We're not a DIY bracket generating website, we are a managed organiser, providing structured events.

We do provide services for third party organisers to use our system, we welcome that. My system may work for you, if you wanted to start operating cash paid tournaments with cash prizes also, lan organisers can advertise their events on my site - which uses a "clan pay" sort of system, teams can clear their balance gradually by competing in paid matches.

I don't know of AG unfortunately, so I cannot compare us to them. If you're on about AG.RU - I am confident my service will sell its self.

That's actually a lot of awesome for one sentence.

The site will be moved to a new server in the next days, hopefully the error of not being able to reserve an alias can be fixed then.
The development of the site was delayed by a lot but is entering one of the final stages in the next week so stay tuned. It will be worth the wait.
In the meantime, if anyone thinks he/she is capable of hosting at least 3-4 tournaments per month for the US community, please talk to me.

Jump on that enigma/mocha/whoever else works in the shadows around here. I imagine a tournament organized by teamfortress.tv would fare much MUCH better than any CEVO/ESEA(or other group) tournament.

Tournament organiser will obviously be the ESA but I'd be more than happy to recruit TF.TV staff to run the NA side of the tournaments (EU is pretty much covered). I am already in touch with enigma for promotion and coverage but I need someone who can administrate the tournaments (write announcements and support during NA match times). I have already asked some of these shadow people for suggestions but everyone recommended to me is too busy with other projects already. Now I now count on people coming to me to apply (I will look for admins more aggressively when the site is live and we have something to show. This bump from atmo just gave me a reason to mention it).

Yes, atmo. Slowly but steadily working towards the launch. ESA just kept rather quiet for the time being, because there is nothing to show at the moment.

Are there any plans in the future for american support for this? As in cash payouts in $. Also, will you guys be hosting the servers or just controlling the bracket aspect.

We plan NA tournaments for TF2 from day 1. The prizes are paid out in Great British Pounds (the company is based in the UK) immediately after the tournaments end into the ESA wallet and funds can either be used to extend the premium subscription, join pay-to-play tournaments or you can withdraw the funds at any time (e.g. via PayPal).
Long term the ESA is looking at hosting servers as well but for now organising a server will be the teams' responsibility.
