ah the classic getting exactly what you wished for.
comp tf2 players "if only the pub community knew about comp then tf2 would be a major esport"
Hundreds of pub players start doing tf2 centers and thousands more could come after matchmaking is implemented.
comp tf2 players "all these fucking noobs are so toxic and ruin the game I liked it better before."

The inherent problem is that the more popular comp gets the more toxic members of the community it attracts.
See dota LoL and CS:GO for examples of this.

I want tf2 to be popular, I just don't want to have to see, hear, or deal with the new players.

Noobs aren't even toxic most of the times, they just play, as badly as the average tf2center player usually

I recall the good ol' times where I used to do TF2Lobby scrims too :D

I used to think competetive tf2 started and ended with tf2lobby back in my pubbing days.

Honestly I'm not sure why people think a low-level team "scrimming" on center is a really bad idea.
It'd be just as chaotic if they found a team to play against, they can play against players that are above their level which can help them improve and they don't have to schedule with the other team. Sure, they have a cringe-inducing name, but there's plenty of that at most levels. They're at least attempting to get into the game competitively.

Then don't play tf2center.

Honestly if you go to tf2center and get upset about how bad your teammates are instead of laughing you should find other forms of tf2 to play during the day.

And this in no way reflects how matchmaking will play. In matchmaking you will have ranks. Then if you're playing with those retards it's you're own fault for having a really low rank

i really dont understand this whole cj about new players, and telling them to go away for nothing they did to you? just dont play tf2center if it bothers you that much. we have pugme if you want to avoid those. if youre playing tf2center expect to be with bad people and at least try to help. if they annoy you that much than just dont pay attention to them?

how the fuck did starcraft manage to be immune to this

i mean sure, some assholes used cheesy strategies, but that was as bad as it got. nobody in the community was actually toxic. hell, the community even stood up for people that in any other community would be destroyed, just look at scarlet

was it microtransactions? sc2 doesn't allow actual competitive play unless you buy the game, whereas the toxic communities are all f2p games

Well starcraft attracts people that want to be good, tf2 attracts people that want to play dress up, sadly.

What about CombatEX, Deezer and everyone else that was in RatZ? They left the community a while ago now though.

I guess, but the community shunned them mostly, just like the people that harassed Scarlet at first. You just don't see that shit anywhere else.
