this is actually super important, much more so than any of these other news items, hopefully we can start discussing it.

Ninjas in Pyjamas, Team SoloMid, Virtus.pro, Team Liquid, Na`Vi, fnatic and EnVyUs are some of the teams that had representatives at the meeting, in which they were enticed by ESL's talk of the biggest prize purse ever in the history of the game - around $18 million, sources have told HLTV.org and The Daily Dot.

wow.

ESL responded with a clarification.

"ESL Managing director Ulrich Schulze released a brief statement on the matter on Reddit, saying: 'There is only one thing to say about this: ESL is not interested in locking out any tournament organizers from running CS:GO events, nor teams from attending them.'"

This basically means that all majors are going to be from ESL meaning that majors are not going to be valve sponsored anymore. So there's no more point of having active duty, reserve duty.

Despite the prize money seeming huge. This is actually a really bad thing especially the exclusivity deal. ESL is planning to take competitive csgo from valve and imo that's never a good thing.

if there does end up being an esl exclusivity deal for all tournaments, that is super bad for the game

but, if ESL successfully stops valve from continually fucking up every tournament, then that can only be a good thing

This is horrible news for other organizers like FaceIt, Gfinity, and CEVO who have made investments into their leagues.

Fuck ESL.

I wonder what they would name it, CCS is already taken if they were trying to copy it off LCS.

Also I can't see how any prize pool out there for any league would exceed The International unless some crazy millionaire (Motar2k) hosts a tournament.

but all the t1 teams wouldn't be playing in them so all these other leagues would be like watching D-League basketball xD which means less viewers = less $ = drop in leagues and sponsors

i will kill myself (jk only cut wrists xD) if i have to watch deman and pansy cast for all these t1 matches

I think there would be a mass suicide if that happens.
