going to sgdq was one of the most fun things i did over the summer, and i'd assume that agdq would only be more awesome because it's an overall bigger event

it's way different getting excited over twitch chat/stream compared to being around the runner(s) in a room filled with other people attending the event
also you get to hang out with everyone, since they usually have a practice room that slowly becomes just a game room where everyone goes to chill and play games ranging from mario party to cards against humanity

Witwix getting the old Boshy WR. Its awesome and one of the best runs ever to watch :)
AGDQ to start in under 10 days, January 4th-10th is the date for the event!

The DKR race should be pretty incredible. The category they're running (100%) has become much more optimized over the past few months, and the three people racing in it have PBs under 2 hours, which only 6 people have managed to do; I also believe Trihex is going to be on the couch for this run to make sure that its properly hyped up.
Also the Source block, the Punch-out runs, Boshy, Banjo Kazooie, and OoT 100% runs should all be good watches as well. :D
EDIT: Almost forgot AverageTrey's 120 shine run in SMS. He actually took back the WR from Stelzig in 120 shines yesterday, so he's the best that the SMS community could represent at such an event, and he's been playing really well lately. It's a super entertaining run as well, fluid movement in Sunshine looks so good.

also something important to remember for people that dont follow the speedrunning community: the ocarina of time any% was beat a couple nights ago by jodenstone, a feat that was thought to be impossible. he beat cosmos time by 3 seconds, posting a time of 18:06.96. this is fucking huge, and theyll probably be talking about it it a lot during the event.
