#232 December Global Whitelist Changes in TF2 General Discussion

I don't understand this philosophy of how unbanning everything makes it easier for casuals to get into 6s. In the first place it really doesn't, and in the second place even if it did, the change in quality in the games you cause by having stupid shit allowed certainly has an effect on the longevity of the game. Casuals migrated to competitive slowly because they wanted a more challenging and balanced way to play the game, and that's why they kept playing it. making every 6s game a pubfest might make more casuals try competitive, but it will certainly make more people quit because it's just not fun anymore.

#26 New Neil Cicierega Album in Music, Movies, TV

I listened to it in it's entirety a little bit earlier. Not a huge fan, but that's probably because I'm not a big fan of mashups in general. Some of the stuff he did was really cool/funny like acvc, but there's nothing on it that I think I would really want to listen to more than once. I get what he's doing, just not my cup of tea.

DifferNub_DanishDifferhttp://images.huffingtonpost.com/2016-09-01-1472759565-493250-extreme_extreme_vetting.jpghttps://www.thereligionofpeace.com/attacks/american-attacks.aspx hmmmmm where exactly does this 2 number come from
Well, they come from New America, as cited in the image. Their data set is available. Leaving that aside, though, pay attention to the actual categories in the image I posted. The 2 figure is specifically for Islamic Jihadist *Immigrants,* which is most relevant to Trump's ban, wouldn't you say? Later, there's a total of 9, which includes citizens.

In your source, TROP (which is explicitly anti-Muslim, I might mention), figures 139 deaths since 9/11. That still works out to roughly 9 per year.

This is very similar to the argument that people make when the black community talks about police brutality. Sure black on black crime is the biggest killer of black youth, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't care about police brutality. Of course the biggest killer of Americans is other Americans, that doesn't mean that we shouldn't care about people who kill discriminately because of a political agenda.

mustardoverlordZoltanI've never really payed much attention to political discussion or criticisms in the past. I'm just wondering if Obama faced any of the same criticisms trump is right now when he restricted immigration from (mostly) islamic nations in the past.
nothing Obama did with muslim immigration restrictions was on this scale

that being said, he DOES get too much of a free pass when it comes to his handling of immigration from Mexico, where he deported far more immigrants than any other president

That's fair. I just think there's hard to find a good middle ground as far as muslim immigration is concerned. On one hand, I look at what mass muslim immigration has been doing to the culture of other countries it has effected, and I don't want the same for America. On the other hand, it's hard to justify turning a blind eye to legitimate refugees. I think it would be great if incoming migrants had some sort of assimilation program or something like that to help them adapt, and make sure they can adapt, to American culture. Implementing anything like that, especially with Trump as president. is going to be incredibly hard with all of the cries of racism and disrespect to muslim culture.

#19 queer kid stuff in The Dumpster
rocketslayi guess i'm stupid for believing a well accredited and established scientific organization over one person :/

The idea that politics don't affect science, especially a science that is so closely connected to the social sphere is ridiculous. The APA defines a mental disability as being dysfunctional, distressing, or deviant. In my experience with people that are transgender, it has caused them quite a bit of distress, and it is clearly deviant from the norm. Just because they decide to unequally apply their criteria to different diseases because the politics of the time would crucify them for it, doesn't mean that you can't look at their criteria and realize that they are not using the same criteria they use to identify literally any other mental disorder to identify gender dysphoria.

aieraOn one side I really don't see how it negatively affects anyone, like how it could be construed as brainwashing when if you believe that it is just preference then it is literally just a lifestyle choice so like who the fuck cares.

On the other side I am so sick of being trans/queer being hip or whatever. literally if it didn't make me incredibly depressed I wouldn't be pumping myself full of hormones. how are you proud that you are mentally diseased idk dude I just wanna be normal.

I have no problem with introducing children to the idea that there are different types of people and to respect everyone they meet, but a lot of this stuff creates the situation of trans/queer being hip. There's now a lot of social pressure among younger kids to identify as something queer because all of their friends do. Maybe I'm bigoted or something, but I think there being a social pressure to make your whole identity a sexual preference while your in middle school is beyond stupid. The impact of not only telling kids that the whole of their identity should be whatever queer minority group they can decide to fit in with is that they try to become a caricature of whatever that may be, and completely give up on becoming and interesting individual person. Not to mention that labeling yourself that way will stigmatize you to the part of society that doesn't buy into all of this identity politics bullshit.

Pankeymanfahrenheitis this shit meant for 6 year olds

wtf stop brainwashing my boy to love dicks
https://youtu.be/lJJduZlWLUQ Neo-Liberals hate the family, and what is considered normal and proper for humanity. They want all people to be mentally and sexually damaged degenerates such as themselves. They want to force people via government legislature and public schooling curriculum to accept THEIR reality and to normalize this filth.

Kids should be worrying about Pokemon games or whatever the fuck, not their genders or whatever these communist cunts try to pollute their minds with.

From what I see from my middle school little sister, it's pretty bad there. There definitely seems to be a lot of pressure from peers to identify as something queer, I mean she had a few friends over the other day and at one point I heard them all telling one of the kids that he should be gay and to just accept it. Like wtf? This kid is 12, and he's being pressured to change or declare his sexual orientation by peers. It's disgusting.

dollarlayerriotbzWAIT overwatch doesn't even have a replay system??? wtf
Nor do they have any kind of stats. So there is really no way to know other than cards how well or how bad a player did.

That's not true, their API does pull a lot of stats like weapon accuracy, heals done to certain players, how many times people ulted and how many kills they got from it. Most of the timet he stats aren't visible, but I'm sure that blizzard would make the stats visible to the casters and have a nice little ui for ti like the do in actual sports.
