MattCVThe so called "physical abuse" of players did not happen, someone accidentally bumped into the back of someones chair and it all got hilariously heated with claims that people were going to "fuck up this faggot". Not being funny but you lot should be pleased that people are willing to come and stand behind your computer chair and watch you play an internet cartoon game.

The internet cartoon game that has money on the line. Ya... You're a douche bag!

Teapot_Ggglygyeven cricket looks pretty chill if you disregard banter.
Cricket has plenty of shit talking, we just call it sledging and it can get pretty ugly and confrontational. But that's besides the point.

Give me a shout when you hear Jimmy Anderson shout 'HE'S SO FUCKING BAD' at the Aussies next summer eh?

At least sledging normally has an element of wit about it.

The fact is that harbleu's a knobend and Coleman was being practically brain dead. Neither should be excusable in all honesty, they were both pretty sickening things to see in a 'professional' eSport, no matter how small it is.

Much like kids going on tantrums, it's just distasteful to witness, that doesn't mean people aren't mentally equipped to 'handle it'.

Most people who follow cricket closely know full well that he says a lot worse to his opponents as well as his own team, just that he does a damn good job of not getting picked up by the stump mic. Most of his "banter" is almost always abuse with no hint of wit.

Jimmy Anderson aside, a lot of players do the same as well as occasionally stuff like threatening to throw their bats at players. As much as I love the sport, it's really not played like a gentleman's game.

.....why are we even talking about cricket in the first place?

Also, I still don't see how trash talk and borderline assault is comparable.

Wall of text but w/e

There's way too much negativity here. Personally I think this was the best lan I've been to and the only thing that made it as good as it was was the people there. We're focusing so much on a couple of negative things that we're forgetting all of the people that gave up so many hours to make the experience better for everyone there whether watching the stream or at the vtv stage. So HUGE shoutouts and thanks to Lange, Tagg, Bismuth, Byte, Bones, Arie, and Nymthae (as well as many others I can't recall at this moment) for all the behind the scenes production among other things. Then HUGE shoutouts all of the players that made the tournament what it was for everyone especially the Americans and the Australians for coming so far to play. Then everyone else that was there either speccing or playing as well, everyone was amazing to meet and incredibly friendly considering the amount of sleep most people had. I'd like to give a shoutout as well to the AYOGURL SUGADADDY HOOD PUSSY CREEPERS for a retardedl fun night of drinking on friday and good chat all weekend long.

TL;DR. There are way more positive things about this LAN than negative. We should all show some appreciation.

lol ok I wasn't going to post in this thread because it's ridiculous, but this tops it. Seagull was by no means in any form of physical danger when coleman was screaming next to him. In fact, I was basically watching the whole time and he never laid a finger on him. Kaidus was the closest person to seagull, and likely from coleman's demeanor kaidus was sort of "backed into a corner" and might have brushed against seagull. In fact, I thought seagull was going to get hit when he put his hand on coleman's shoulder to try to tell him to calm down or whatever, which is something you definitely don't want to do to a drunk person whom you don't even know. Coleman still didn't even touch him and was actually much less aggressive than a lot of people would've been in the same situation.

This was blown entirely out of proportion, and I think this thread says more about the community than this little incident ever has.

My bad, I guess harassment would've been more accurate.. though it could have lead to assault if seagull reacted badly.

Well someone in twitch chat said Coleman killed seagull, I dunno what to believe.

You'd have thought mix up could handle extremely loud shit talk while they're playing in a LAN environment. Considering 90% of it usually comes from them.

Yeah, Seagull had to play the rest of the match profusely bleeding from the stabbing wound Coleman gave him. He actually died after the match and I think this is a contributing factor to why Epsilon won the match. It's a shame the match wasn't paused so that Seagull could get medical attention but I don't blame anyone, the match was already delayed so...

This was the most amazing lan I've ever been to and I don't see how something as silly as the crowd picking favorites would have a big impact on the lan as a whole. I just wrote it of as british culture and allowed my self to get carried away, screaming and cheering for epsilon and having the time of my life. In retrospect I think mix^ really deserved a win. They we're playing amazing and might actually have given us a worth final.
Regarding coleman.
I thought coleman was a fun, cool guy who was just shittalking in gest but this macho BS that he pulled made me realize he might just be a prick (idk, didn't get a chance to talk to him). Hopefully I'm wrong and he makes some sort of apology and gets his shit together for next lan. If given a chance I think coleman and the yanks might be great friends, who knows. Letting something as trivial as nationality obscure how similar we actually are just doesn't seem like it's in the spirit of these lans or even this community.

P.S
don't get your jimmies rustled by shittalk

shit talk from the players in a match != 3rd party interference

not saying what coleman did was anything near assault (lol) but it still wasn't cool

but hey, I probably would've done as much or worse if I was drunk at a lan

you never go full retard

I haven't been to a single LAN where I was interrupted from playing in that manner or seen anyone be an asshole to other players

Because no one likes watching you loser. Last ESEA LAN there was a group of like 7 people breathing down seagulls neck and having a full on convo about everything happening in the game. Shit is distracting. It's the reason I stopped sitting at the end of the table, everyone fucking loves crowding around the person there because it has the most space. Imagine hearing everyone behind you talking about the match, while seeing a few of them in your peripheral vision (if you have an end table seat) while hearing this gorilla https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PBEfEI1DSiY&t=25m5s

edit: but im not complaining, its part of the competition and inevitable when people come to spectate an event that has no spectator seats. I just dunno why you're so confident it doesn't happen just because it didn't happen to you!
