i know people who use cannabis to help with insomnia because it makes you fuck-tired at a certain point, but hey i'm not gonna openly recommend drug use as a cure-all to fix ur sleep shit. Just a thought if nothing else works.

if you are sitting at your computer all day and walking to the fridge to get another coke is the farthest journey of your day, you are not going to be tired at the end of the day.

go do something physical at some point in the day. can be anything.

I recently switched to third shift and had a terrible time falling asleep at 8 am. I got some ZzzQuil (I guess it's a sleep aid made by nyquil? ) and it helped me a lot in the beginning. Now I don't need it as much anymore.

It also gave me some really fuckin vivid dreams so that was cool.

I know nothing about the health effects outside of short-term use though.

I've got a playlist of songs that helps me sleep. The only problem is that I'll wake up and I'll be sleeping on top of my headphones or some shit.

Remember to disable flux while gaming because it can introduce extra latency. don't game constantly at night anyway. remember to stop doing visually intensive things an hour before bed, even if you have flux.

i find it interesting how in threads there are entire OZ sections while everyone else is asleep and then they just kind of disappear.

I had some creepy experiences with Ambien, and would highly recommend avoiding it, I had a lot of memory loss related to things that happened in the early morning.

I know I mentioned books, but depending on your living situation, and general principals overall, if you considered medication and you are worried about dependence, taking a few bong rips of a good indica does wonders and is way cheaper then a prescription now a days depending on where you live.

you don't need to tell anyone you smoke, or be all social about it, its just a realistic alternative that's trying to be legitimized right now. a few bong tokes and reading a good book will definitely leave you dosing off at a reasonable hour, plus getting stoned doesn't really have any off-side effects in the morning, you'll probably just end up looking forward to going to bed :D

just be responsible and don't use it all the time socially, it doesn't become a dependence, it however might just leave you building up a tolerance.

it can also lead to abuse, I have had a few pals get into taking it for recreational purposes and it just led to them blacking out and getting into a car accident. now they are fucked with their parents and have a lot of trust issues as well. (not just with their parents, but with their friends including myself).

Low-dose melatonin (<1 mg) works best for long-term use. If you use consistently higher doses then your body stops wasting energy making melatonin that you're going to supply anyway.

Chamomile tea works as a weak GABA agonist, so it causes your neurons to release more GABA which is the brain's main inhibitory neurotransmitter and thus should make you sleepy...

I also have had a poor experience with Ambien but long-term benzodiazepines messed me up for much longer (benzodiazepine withdrawal is god awful).

Currently I take 1 mg melatonin, gabapentin, and a cortisol manager supplement (Integrative Therapeutics, has L-theanine and phosphotidylserine and a few other things). This is for anxiety-based insomnia that exercise doesn't help.

Good luck. Sleep issues suck. :/

Only problem with twilight for android is that you can't really set it up to be coordinated with time of day without paying afaik.

Edit: I just checked and you can now.
