julesdoingworkuh no, this is what male entitlement does to you

Are you seriously so fucked up that you think this is what all guys think? He could have been a woman and felt the same way towards men and this still would have happened because he had serious mental problems. This clearly goes beyond "male entitlement," so shut the fuck up and stop trying to blame a drive-by mass murder on "being a man."

finnaSuper fucked up. He probably never got therapy or some shit because his dad didn't want his son to taint his name with mental illness.

Look how that worked out.

his dad probably didnt even notice, everyone acts differently around their parents and i'd say he was too embarrassed to talk about being a virgin to his dad

gun control would've prevented him from shooting the people he did a lot more than "increased mental illness awareness" would have. It would've also prevented numerous other tradgedies that have occurred in the last 30 years.

every system the US has had when dealing with the mentally afflicted up until now has been no better than our current system, which basically doesn't exist beyond offering welfare for (some of) those that are unable to support themselves.

I don't disagree that US needs to regulate weapons like guns better, however I'd say it's naive to say gun control would've kept guns out of the hands of someone so wealthy and determined. On the other hand, if more people 'believed'(I hate that I have to use that term) in mental illness, and were educated on the traits of a sociopath with no empathy, there's a good chance someone close to him could have gotten him help of prevented the violence he caused.

If a person has a mind set to kill someone im pretty sure a couple of gun control laws wont stop them. All that does is prevent people from owning guns who wont do anything wrong with them

Harbingerjulesdoingworkuh no, this is what male entitlement does to you
Are you seriously so fucked up that you think this is what all guys think? He could have been a woman and felt the same way towards men and this still would have happened because he had serious mental problems. This clearly goes beyond "male entitlement," so shut the fuck up and stop trying to blame a drive-by mass murder on "being a man."

It goes beyond male entitlement but you're blind to think ideas like "women owe men sex" are uncommon! He had serious mental problems, but if this weren't motivated by a misogynistic ideology (I'd recommend reading the epilogue of his manifesto if you don't believe me: http://www.scribd.com/doc/225960813/Elliot-Rodger-Santa-Barbara-mass-shooting-suspect-My-Twisted-World-manifesto) he would have shot the people around him. Did he do that? No. He deliberately went after women who allegedly turned him down.

There are millions of mentally ill people in the US that don't fucking murder people that aren't interested in them romantically, so I refuse to believe you can chalk this up to solely mental illness. It was mental illness AND a misogynistic ideology that contributed to the deaths of innocent women.
