^I second everything he said. I don't regret doing it for the experience but I'm in no rush to do it again by any means.

It was really good but expensive and traffic was a nightmare.

steve's is the truth

76 does indeed suck, don't be surprised if it takes ~1.5 hours to get into the city. if you're looking to avoid driving all the way into town you can take SEPTA from norristown (15 min drive + 40 min train to center city)

Yeah the schuylkill expressway from city ave downward is god awful during rush hour. In general you want to check 76 and 676 vine street before going to the city. If it's bad and you need to get in, try taking 76 getting off at city ave before the bend and then take kelly drive to the ben fraklin parkway past the art museum. From there you can get over to broad street or wherever. Also, Dellasandro's in roxborough isn't that bad if you don't want to go into the city. You'll miss out on the "experience" of pats or genos but they still got good steaks.

Making a new thread with a ton of information and a handful of announcements within a week. I promise.

It won't be 100% of the details and planned announcements, as other plans and details are still in progress, but it'll be a very good chunk of things.

So the very tentative plan for now is that I will rent a car (my car is a city car and not big enough for an interstate trip) from Toledo and head down to pick up Turin in Columbus. Then I need one more person somewhere along the way either before Columbus or afterwards since I'd like to have 3 people to share costs. Also possible that someone could pick me up and then Turin and then head to Phili. Check it out folks and talk to me if you would fit into this puzzle.

If I can get a job soon I'm going to try and swing this. Sounds like fun!

Probably not going to play though, unless my laptop can run it decently, or I can bum off someone every once and a while.

BenkLast year a few guys and I met at Pats and honestly I was underwhelmed. The cheesesteak cost like 10 dollars and wasn't that filling. Tasted good but wasn't worth the drive into the city. We sat in traffic for a few hours leaving Philly to get back to the convention center. If you really want a steak, make sure you're clear of the beltway before rush hour. I76 is a fucking dumpster of a highway.

this is the best "tourist" cheesesteak in the city

Honestly you can get just as good of a cheesesteak outside of the city, Pat's and Geno's are tourist traps. Cheeze-wiz on a cheesesteak is a travesty.

I plan on going. Not paid yet, but I'll either need a ride from Indianapolis or I'll be able to pick people up on the way.

I'm coming from West Lafayette and depending if AJ joins me, i'll have 1-2 seats open in my car as well. I will be going through Indianapolis.

edit: I'm swinging a bit south to pick up a friend on the trip, so if you're looking for the fastest trip, I'm not the guy. That said, you won't have any driving responsibilities either. I'm also probably gonna be leaving at like 10 or 11 PM on Thursday night and driving through the night.

edit again: here's my route: http://goo.gl/maps/N9iwq

I'm willing to drive carpool as well, just looking to split gas money.

Bake sale?

:P

Cost out a recipe by pricing ingredients and determining a yield, then sell your product for ~3 times the cost, which is pretty standard industry practice.

That's a lot of lemon bars but it could be done.
