are the existing ones good enough now or would a bit more granularity in the form of new subforums be useful?

Maybe some sub-sub forums for places like TF2 Customization (HUD releases, cfg and script help, could probably have a whole active subforum for crosshairs but that might be a bit much)

Recruitment could be good if it was split to 6v6 LFP, LFT and HL LFP, LFT. While I don't think this forum caters as much to HL players it could make it a bit more friendly if they had their own recruitment area outside UGC.

Mentoring could be split to Mentors and people looking for a mentor to clear up a bit of clutter.

Honestly I think the tf2 costumization subforum could be divided into a hud subforum and a general tools subforum (configs, plugins, etc)

I also think fragmovies, moviemaking and editing deserves its own subforum.

And there should be also a specific subforum for maps discussion only

And Im not sure if there's enough need for it but I think a server settings/cfgs/plugins subforum would also be useful although I haven't seen many server specific threads pop up.

theirs a lot of huds i havn't seen before, it would be cool to have all the custom huds in one section.

Movies (Fragmovies, editing, ...)
HUD (Help, releases, previews, ...)

And one dedicated to configs, plugins, binds and all that stuff.

Just noticed the new videos section :) Nice one! Should we also discuss moviemaking there? Probably could be named moviemaking or something and have all the recording tools threads there as well

Now I just think the costumization one should be divided into HUDs subforum and a general one for tools, and I think there's also enough content for a maps subforum.

(btw the new subforum is set to not appear on the forum activity sidebar by default, is this normal? Because a lot of people will miss it if its off by default, probably should have everything on by default)

I will probably get some heat for this but since we are called Teamfortress.tv maybe we implement a community forum for people that are not in comp? Make some rules for it of course something like no scam help or whatever, but I seem to be noticing more pub community/servers posting here only to get downfragged to oblivion. This site if you search "teamfortress forums" on google is the fourth behind the wiki and both of steams forums. If a community forum is implemented we could make it default off the side bar on the entrance like we did with recruiting. If we make the site more of a general hub for the entire TF community we would probably get more people into comp then just spreading the site around when someone says "TF2 has a comp scene?". This is just an idea though.

I like this idea, while tf.tv shouldn't turn into a pub community adding places for casual players to talk and maybe just alot of info for competitive can't be a bad thing.

As opposed to a section for casual players/discussion, why not a subforum for new players/guides/questions?

WaldoAs opposed to a section for casual players/discussion, why not a subforum for new players/guides/questions?

I am not opposed to that but it isn't what I am suggesting. The only people who would read new player/guides/questions are people who are already interested in competitive tf2, and if you are already looking to get into comp tf2 you probably would be looking at this forum anyway. I am saying why not get a forum for the pub players so they actually look at this site and with that actually know about comp tf2 and tf.tv. If they were interested in tf2 comp then they would arrive here eventually anyways.

Agree. We could only benefit from "integrating" people from the pub community into ours.
