to sandbag a division is to play in a lower division when you should be playing in a higher one.

I would like to see a fully loaded roster not drop a single round over the course of the season.

I kinda blame ESEA for that. They really didnt do the best job when they added main. Normally you have to follow a certain procedure to move teams up. When it was only 3 divisions the rules were pretty strict, but with the creation of a brand new (higher level) division they really shoulda hand picked the teams for the first season. They grabbed a bunch of open teams who didnt do so well and put them 1 step below invite. These teams are dying and main is suffering because of it. Hopefully that won't be the case next season, but ESEA really dropped the ball here.

holy shit i stopped playing main because of time constraints not because i was afraid of playing good people
AND
what team would've been better to move up than the one that went 23-1?

Street Hoops is currently 8-1 in Main as an open moveup. Syndrome of a Down is a decent middle of the pack team and the Italian Stallions would have been doing well if not for roster issues.

The only open move-up that doesn't belong is Animus Victoria.

thrasher you don't have the slightest idea of what you are talking about, not a single open moveup team has died. One of the open move ups (street hoops) are currently 8-1 and are a top 4 team. The only open moveup not doing well is animus. The teams placed in main are very good and every game has been competitive. The team that died didn't die because they were "not good enough" for main, it died because they didn't enjoy playing with each other.

Yeah animus and stallions are kinda messed up - but my team was an IM playoff team and we are just floating on an assortment of inflatable balloons and the kindness of Remram and will be lucky to get 4 wins.

And really, the only teams from last season's IM that are even around was my roster and rentahomies (and kinda the AG roster if I'm not mistaken?).

Despite 'sandbagging' Open is still really competitive. Teams like The Meat Market, and FlashSharks are going huge this season despite the other teams.

Fair enough. I stand corrected.

phobiais main higher than im?

Yes.

Also

ESEAMove ups from Open to Main will be done based on the number of teams needed to fill Main divisions to a level that ESEA deems competitive. Therefore, the number of teams moved up to Main from Open will be variable per season and will be influenced by the number of Main teams that are marked dead or are moved down, and the number of Intermediate teams that are moved up. Open teams will be ordered by their post-season placing and generally, but not guaranteed, 4 teams will be moved up.

I'd be lying if I said that we werent asking to be moved up. We scrim main teams all the time and it's always a good game. I'm also talking about teams like AG and Dream Boat tho. Those teams would be highly competitive in main.
