Hello everyone! I'm going to sign up for an open team in a month or two and I need to get a new mouse. My current one is too small for my hand. I'm torn between the Deathadder 2013 and the G400s. I have medium sized hands and I play with a dpi of 800 and in-game sens of 1.18 (yes I play Scout). Thanks.

never used a g400, but the deathadder 2013 is excellent quality with a really high quality sensor. also actually has really good sweat resistance, doesn't get grubby at all. i have pretty small hands and its really comfortable to use. probably the better option imo because the g400 is pretty old now, though i duno how good it is :p

G400's are really good if you can get extras (cord issues).

Thanks for your input I really appreciate it. There's two versions of the G400. The regular G400 and the G400s which is supposed to be an upgrade I think.

If you want to stick with 800 dpi, get the g400s since that is one of its native dpis.
If you don't mind switching to 1800 dpi, get the DA and change your in game sens to .524 for something similar to your original sens.

Just a warning that both mouses have different shapes and that you should just get one that you prefer more.

And don't worry if they break, both Razer and Logitech have fairly good customer service.

I have a DeathAdder and so far it hasn't failed me. Really good quality, I love the shape as well. Haven't tried the G400 / G400s so I can't tell if the DA is better or not, but I can tell you it's a reliable mouse.

If you buy a g400/g400s make sure you have a backup mouse, they break at the drop of a hat apparently.

I have a normal 3G DA, that's also nice, idk what the price difference is but I bet no one realy uses 6400 dpi on a mouse. So maybe have a look at the normal one.

The DA 2013 does just fine on 800 and 400 CPI.

they're pretty much only different aesthetically

g400s has longer lasting buttons and updated srom but you'd never notice that

i really like the g400s i had a DA and it died in about 3 weeks. My old mx518 basically a g400 lasted for 6 years before it broke. Which led me to the g400s and i haven't had any problems with it and its going on about 7 months now would highly recommend it

Thanks everyone. I just got home and I held the two mice at my local Best Buy and the G400s is much more comfortable. Currently I'm leaning towards it. Anyone want to add more about the DA before I come to a final decision?

I like both Logitech and Razer. My taipan has lasted me ever since it came out. I love the two so much I just have a hard time deciding.

Guess i should say Logitech has a no hassle replacement as long as you have the receipt

I only have one concern for the G400s. The wire isn't braided and appears to be flimsy. is it?

braided cables dont really matter, its just a marketing thing.

If you get a G400 you should tape the cable to your desk, make sure to give the cable some slack. I loop my G400's cable like this, I've had the same G400 for almost two years and it hasn't had any issues.

I have been using the Logitech G400s for a long time and i had no problem with the cable, i personally don't like braided cables. They tend to be really thick and cause more friction, as well as adding a bit more weight, just my personal preference.

As for the Da 2013 i had it for about a month and it feels great and the sensor has no acceleration or prediction (Same with the G400s), The software is awful and i did not like razer's build quality (Died after only 1 month of use).

I have only two more things I need to ask then I'm done. I've heard some people say their sensors are both great. Which one's sensor has been the most reliable for all of you?

You goddamn kids with your mouse choices.

I'm still using my MX 518 while it's still kicking. I've heard the G400s are supposed to be an upgrade with identical ergonomics. Has anyone else replaced theirs and had any noticeable difference?

I have both and the tracking feels about the same, I haven't had any issues with either of them.

g400s are very prone to cord issues. I've gotten mine replaced about three to four times. But that is nullified by the fact that logitech will replace it for free if it's still under warranty. A free three year warranty. I dont have to send it back for repairs. I dont have to pay a fee. I just have to whine to logitech for a couple days, and a new mouse is soon at my doorstep. They sent me a new g400s to replace my g400. g400s all the way.

What in the world did you do with that mouse?
My Deathadder (older model not the 2013) is ~1.5 years old and still working great.

That is one of the reason's I love Logitech. is there anyway to avoid the wire from disconnecting? Like a mouse bungee or something?

My deathadder 3500 lasted ~2 years, eventually the left click started double clicking. However, razer sent me a deathadder 2013 when i opened a support ticket, which is pretty cool.

I have a Deathadder 2013 Left Handed edition and if the right handed edition is as ergonomic as the left handed one I'd highly recommend it. It leans towards palm grip a little (or maybe I just have small hands), so if possible I'd try to see how it fits in your hand.
