So today is my first day of switching to ecigs after 12-ish years of normal gross ciggies... and so far i kind of like it. I wanted to see if anyone here has made the switch and stuck with it... or if they didnt why did you switch back? The only person I know who uses them is my younger sister and she loves them SO much she could literally be a spokesperson for ecigs.

PS haters stay in your holes... i'm making changes to be healthier here.

I know a guy who has been smoking for a long time, who switched to them a while back. Won't shut up about how much he likes them compared to regular cigs. You should use them to slowly quit instead of just switching over.

One step at a time buddy. Right now the plan is just to switch... unless I get knocked up.

I've been using on for a little under 10 months now, and absolutely LOVE it. Still, I can't find a way to push myself into using it while I'm out drinking, etc. Though to me, if I was home for a day with nothing to do, I would smoke only 1-2 cigs in like 5-6 hours and not be bothered- so with the the e cig, I just puff on that and am satisfied. After ~a week, you lose the craving for actual cigarettes, you just need to actually stick to it.

I have an ego c-twist

I use it once in a while, but e-cigs aren't as satisfying as a regular cig. You don't get the throat hit and it felt like the nicotine wasn't as strong regardless of how strong the juice was.

The one thing I love about ecigs are all the different flavors you can have/make.

One of my friends who's a chain smoker switched to these things, but he stopped because apparently he would wake up with the taste of cat piss every morning.

As long as you don't just replace cigarettes with e-cigs and use them to try to quit you should be fine.

This. Although nicotine is a lot better than nicotine + whole buncha other shit, it still fucks with you. Take your time doing it though.

I tried to make the switch once, but the only place that sells them near me that I know of sells some really shitty brand. I'll prob be down to switch if I can find a good one.

If anyone is interested you can get a free disposable eCig from this website, technically you have to pay a penny for shipping so you'll still need a debit/credit card. Flavours available are cherry, menthol, coffee, tobacco and vanilla. You can also choose your desired strength of nicotine.

Ordered mine the other day and it should be here soon

i switched over for a while, but then switched back because i realized i was "smoking" way the fuck more with the ecig than normal cigs. i guess not seeing it burn down and be done made my retard brain just keep puffing forever. plus, when i quit i'm gonna quit, not stay addicted to nicotine via tobacco free smoking.

edit: also, for quitting...the huge part is the physical habit you get into of having your hand by your mouth and holding a cig. so using the ecig keeps that ritual alive as well as the nicotine addiction. gonna be just as hard to quit those as it is cigs.

Ordering mine atm, I've been wanting to try one since I started.
They just seem cool, and the only reason I smoke is mainly for "image" (don't really know a better word) or with other smokers as sort of a social thing.
Anyone know which of the flavours (Tobacco, cherry, vanilla or coffee) would be best for a first try?

obviously everyone has their own preference, i tried it the other day my friend had one and i honestly didn't like the flavor at all yeah its smooth but it just left a really unsatisfying after taste. ive been smoking on and off for a long time too, but i just like the flavor of actual tobacco. plus ecigs actually have WAYYYYYY more nicotine than regular cigs. i remember when i went to montreal for ETS...i had the quebec classique cigs and they taste amazing (non menthol). i heard japanese cigs are some of the best as well.

I convinced Ty to switch over to the ecig. I highly recommend them. I haven't smoked a real cigarette in like 4 months. I went from smoking reg menthols to smoking and ecig with ultra light liquid) I don't think I smoke more than I did previously, because I generally only hit it once and put it back down for a bit.

They do the trick and you don't smell like shit ass dick all day.

I use this: http://www.aquavaporcig.com/PRO-DSE901-Electronic-Cigarette-with-PCC-Bundle_p_146.html

It's cheap and it's rated up there with the $200 + ecigs.

Get one and stop smelling like shit ass dick.

considering cigarettes are physically addictive I don't think it's really about which one you enjoy more, lol

when ecigs first came out my friend got the blu cig one cherry flavor extreme nicotine it was pretty cool but after a while it would just burn your throat, the solution seemed to be highly acidic. The nicotine felt different and I would get a headache soon after puffin on it for a bit

I've always been on/off smoker and I'll prolly get this free one to do smoke tricks inside

I quit smoking analogs back in February... used a Volt from smokelessimage.com - they have starter kits that are pretty good. My mom smoked for 40+ years and used one of their kits to quit in about a month. Highly recommend it - their ice menthol is pretty damn good - I never really smoked menthol but I liked it.

Yeah I actually got the started kit from volt... still loving it so far. I need to order some blank cartomizers/liquids though because I want to try every flavor out there and the prefilled ones are expensive as shit... will probably pick up a passthrough battery when I order those as well. I am not sure if all the ecig companies have as many different products as volt but their stuff is awesome!

I've been a smoker for close to 10 years, recently about a pack a day. In 09 I tried switching out to some of the first e-cigs. I eventually stopped using it after a month, trying to shift my dependency to it. They just didn't have that satisfying hit or w/e and could never seem to get my fix. I recently tried gum but kept relapsing. It's tough especially if all your friends are smokers as well. My buddy 2 weeks ago brought over one of the newer higher tier e-cigs and I was hooked. Sure you might "vape" more and your only shifting your dependency, but this is the first time I felt I could beat the addiction I guess with relative ease. You should definitly consider switching, and if you do, just jump for the better ones (provari/zmax/vmax/lavatube). The kits will set you back 200+ but I think its totally worth it, the health benefits are there along with suppressing the cravings. Sure they look a little silly, and are difficult to take out with you, but being able to stop smoking regular cigs completely is a huge accomplishment.

Wait, I misread your post. Lol i thought my post was supposed to convince you or w/e. Well yeah, from my exp, they're crazy as hell. Dude I haven't touched cigs and have 0 want for them as well. I have both the provari and zmax. I've been off cigs for 2 weeks now and have a new found interest in "vaping", god i hate that word.

Like ty I smoked for about 10 years (actually 12, I guess). I started with a 24mg cart, then dropped to an 18 after a couple weeks, then a 12 and now I keep a couple around for when I'm drinking or playing games. You can get them w/out niquid too, which I will probably do the next time I order. I noticed in the first month or so that I could run and move around again, wasn't coughing, was sleeping better, smelled better, etc. It's really a great thing. Shit in my house is cleaner (I used to smoke inside... god that's disgusting). Since picking up my Volt and buying probably 4 packs of carts a month I'm saving something like $250/month versus analogs.

Also, if you're looking at starting to vape check this thread: http://www.reddit.com/r/electronic_cigarette/comments/107l8q/reddits_ecig_recommendations_sep_20_2012/

There's a 16% off coup to smokeless in that top thread. Pick up the starter kit she recommends and grab a couple sample packs to see what you like. The Ice Menthol is good if you smoked menthols (the other one tastes like cough drops, no bueno). The 555, RY4 or Cowboys are great subs for tobacco flavor (Parliaments, Camels, Marlboro's respectively as far as taste).

A lot of hardcore vapers will bitch and moan about volts and cartos saying you should get a big ol nasty clearo and mega batteries and tips and what not... but if I wanted to carry around a thing that looked like I was sucking on a dildo all day I'd carry a dildo. I like the Volt because it's the size of a 120 analog, you can pocket it, you can stealth it (I vaped on planes and didn't get thrown in jail, no one knew - exhale over coffee - pro tip). And really compared to a pack a day or every 2 days you're saving a ton after about 2 weeks... costs a bit to get started, but it's worth it in the long run and w/ the coup you're saving a ton of money.

Can someone explain the process of what is needed really? I've been thinking about switching to these to help on quitting smoking normal cigs. But just looking at a website real quick, there is just so many "extra" options. For example, is the battery housed into the e-cig? How long does the battery last? How long does a cartridge last? How many hits of one would be equivalent to a reg cig? How can you tell how much is needed to help a fix without "feeling" it. Like when trying weed in HS, I would always inhale way too much because you really didn't get the feeling of a hit. Anyways, a little write up on someones transition to these from normal cigs would be cool and really helpful.
