PAPASTAINstill funnier than your posting

I still have no idea who you are because I hadn't even seen your name around until you started moaning about how the meta-game was stale. I still have yet to see you make some a post that doesn't reek of cynical-holier-than-thou-know-it-all.

Are you just a poster boy for dunning-kruger or are the conditions favorable for ego growth in ugc steel nowadays?

skyrideIsn't that just hilarious though? Like obviously "raise your pauses" isn't that funny, but the fact you can get so many people to do it?

I just don't see what people think Twitch chat should be? It's like going to a Football match and complaining that people are screaming and shouting instead of having incredible in-depth discussions about the latest metagame and shoe building materials.

But this ISN'T the equivalent of going to a sports game and hearing a chant. I cannot find a more accurate term than memespouting to describe what the chat is. It's not going "LET'S GO YANKEES LET'S GO" or a pocket of people chanting "DEEEEEEFENSE, DEEEEEEFENSE", it's idiots parroting a horrible ascii catchphrase because it's "funny" to flood a chatroom. There's actual passion in the former, there's none in the latter.

Twitch chat SHOULD be the equivalent of going to a sports game and joining in on relevant chants and talking with other spectators about the game, not watching a PewDiePie/Two Best Friends Play/Totalbiscut/Whatever completely retarded e-celeb LPer you like youtube video and reading the comments section.

seriously, dude. you're putting more effort into this relationship than I ever had

one serious post towards you: your entire personality screams of "obnoxious middle-class who thinks their shouts of slurs is a requirement", so I never bother taking you seriously and once made a funny about how angry you were a topic way back. I made another one again, because again, I thought it was funny.

that's it. I just think you're a silly person, any attempt you make to "explain" me is extreme delusion because you can't handle me finding you funny, and that's all my side has on that. if you excuse me, there's a thing I actually want to enjoy now goodbye

It's just people being excited. If you actually think about "let's go yankees", its actually a totally meaningless statement, but tons of people say it and just rolls of the tonuge really easily when you're excited because it's only like 4 syllables. It's like the irl equivelant of CTRL + C CTRL + V.

"Let's go yankees!"

Now you're just grasping at straws. If you're seriously going to pick apart "Let's go <x team>, let's go", a common rallying chant, completely out of context your argument for this memespouting business is incredibly flawed. In fighting games you can have people just going completely apeshit going "OH! OH! OH! OH!" every time a gigantic combo is unleashed or you'll have people spamming pjsalt in chat on twitch and THAT MAKES SENSE. Salty is a common term used to describe someone who is bitter about losing a game, and there are times where people are just biblicized when they're in the lead. They get straight up demolished. Cue the chat throwin' down pjsalt in the chatbox because I'd be salty too if I had a big lead and I got completely outplayed.

Even putting "raise your dongers" in context to the game doesn't make any sense. It's not a cheer, it's not a jeer, it's not a proper exclamation - it's just some stupid infectious league of legends in-joke.

I dont get it, if you dont like what the chat is talking about, why do you read it? theres other options like:

full screen
pop out the chat and hide it.
watch the stv.
you can also ignore people on twitch.

If it bothers you so much that people are just spamming mindlessly, why watch it? Just do what you enjoy.

gr8stalinEven putting "raise your dongers" in context to the game doesn't make any sense. It's not a cheer, it's not a jeer, it's not a proper exclamation - it's just some stupid infectious league of legends in-joke.

I wasn't watching this live unfortunately, but from I saw in the screenshot, people weren't saying "raise your dongers," they were saying "raise your pauses." So I'm guessing there was a pause, so it's not like they were interrupting anything. Just filling the gap that a pause leaves. And of course using "pauses" instead of "dongers" in the context of a pause happening just means that it's being made relevant to tf2.

It's literally just people having fun. What the fuck else should the chat be doing during a pause? If this was going down during actual gameplay and some idiots were spamming "raise your airshots" or stupid then I can see how it could be irritating.
