I got a friend add and message tonight from a scam I remember surfacing awhile back. I couldn't find the original thread but just wanted to warn you guys this scam is still active.

Do not click the link they send you because if I recall correctly it has to log in to a fake forum.

I made a little little script that adds a "valid" label to the steamcommunity pages puu.sh/4093U.js. You can drag drop it into the chrome extensions menu, I think you have to add .user.js for firefox or something.

All of this crap can be avoided by just reading the URL. Do it.

Common sense isn't common.

..but snarky comments aside, aren't you 'supposed to' log in to the scam website for it to work?

I'm reasonably certain that browsers wouldn't allow websites to look through cookies for other sites, so yes, you would probably have to log into the site before anything bad could happen. Though it probably looks identical to the real thing.
