Huh, you're right. They still have the proper names in any backpack viewer though. Probably just a display bug.

yeah it's a display error, shit's properly named/described in your inventory but not in the display in tf2

Yep, got the same problem. Also, can anyone else see water in game? It's invisible for me.

the only big issue i had with steampipe is that it couldn't recognize the steampipe beta TF2 as the real TF2 after I had some steam issue I had to fix by deleting some steam files, and basically it forced me to reinstall TF2 in whole before fucking just booting up the steampipe directory (pretty awesome that it wipes the old directory too without asking, despite being moved from the username folder to common, right?). I'm assuming that issue was because it's not mandatory yet but i'd like to avoid having to reinstall tf2 any way I can.

Other than that my hud worked fine and although people claimed to "do things right and install everything correctly" I question whether they actually did.

I dunno if anyone mentioned it yet either but I'd probably suggest opting in before the entire steam community is forced to download whatever TF2 needs to become steampipe.

I went down to 90 fps from my usual 400, though I booted in half the time. Also, until you restart the game, textures get screwed up, lighting was completely nonexistent when I first booted up:

nightwatchmat_fullbright 1, now you can. Can't use cheat cvar mat_fullbright in multiplayer, unless the server has sv_cheats set to 1.

Well, I'm sad now. Anyone notice that mat_fullbright is what the nvidia driver 'flickering' was?

This will be fixed once everyone is on SteamPipe: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Source-1-Games/issues/329#issuecomment-17018144

process spire was literally transparent, seems like the only way to fix it is restarting

I had some weird stuff too after I went to steampipe. In a scrim on blands all the glass textures were missing and were replaced by what i assume is the wireframe for the windows (white border with a white x through it), and then on snakewater, a bunch of things were wireframe, including the crane above second, which actually looked cool as hell. It was weird.

Question. If I were to describe one of my weps now that I'm using SteamPipe would it the item be affected differently in anyway?

Virulencemat_fullbright is what the nvidia driver 'flickering' was?

In that case, it should be possible to replicate it using the nVidia Inspector tool, somehow, or something like that. If it can happen by accident, it's usually reproducible.
